For decades it seemed like bed bugs were nearly extinct in the United States, and became more of a cliché used to scare little children. Unfortunately, bed bugs are experiencing a strong resurgence due to the stricter regulations on pesticides and the increase in both domestic and international travel. Now property owners and managers in Manhattan, Brooklyn and throughout New York and Connecticut are encountering bed bug activity in their homes and businesses including hotels, movie theaters and schools; this leaves many wondering what to do about the threat they pose.
