Corporate Mass Media and the Secret Empire
Not too long ago I read a story about a court case in Georgia involving the current president of the United States of America and whether or not he is legally eligible to hold that office. I'm not big into the whole Barack Obama birth certificate thing because I think that nearly all politicians at ...
America, Hate It or Leave It
The title of this piece will likely seem extremist and very counterintuitive. Perhaps a better title would be "The American Federal Government, Question it and Keep it's Authority in Check or it Will Become More Tyrannical and You Might as Well be Living in Some Authoritarian Collectivist European R...
Tantric Sex, Finding Higher Self and.., Politics?
Much has been written about the art of tantric sex. I think that many people are drawn to explore it because of the physical aspect. They are titillated by the promise of longer orgasms, more control over orgasms, multiple orgasms and just a more satisfying sexual experience in general. There's no p...
The True Cost of Using Privately Provided Currency
If you've been following the economic news lately, and most people have been, you may have become interested in searching for alternative views on why the economy is the way it is. This may be at least partly because the corporate mainstream media has done such a poor job of predicting and reporting...
Imagination and the Battle Against Globalism and the New World Order
It should be no secret by now that a cadre of central banksters, politicians and extremely wealthy corporatists have been working to implement a global order which would benefit their interests. The mere knowledge of this causes different reactions in different people. Some will enter a state of den...
Co-opting the Populist Majorities
I have stated before that I am happy to see the "Occupy Wall Street" movement moving forward and turning into something bigger. I am happy to see it gain momentum and migrate to other areas. The American people, like people all over the world, are angry with the ruling classes and are voicing their ...
Ron Paul, the Honest Government I Deserve
I have heard that you get the government you deserve. This might be true for you, but I can tell you I've never gotten the government I deserve. I've never voted for a corrupted, corporate establishment owned, globalist, big government Democrat. I've never voted for a corrupted, corporate establishm...
Viewing the Santa Claus Mentality
It's been several weeks since I've last posted an opinion article. Please forgive me, but I've been very busy lately. I've actually found some work that pays me and I've been taking care of that rather than writing which hasn't been paying the rent for me. I do enjoy eating. One of my jobs is being ...
Government Thugs, Terrorists and 93 Treasonous Senators
There is just too much going on to remain still now, isn't there? Things are getting way too interesting to ignore. I have a little time on the weekends so I thought I'd take the time to write a short commentary on a couple of recent developments. I don't need to tell you that something is wrong, we...
All Roads Lead to Ron Paul
Ron Paul is finally getting the attention he has deserved for so long. The mainstream corporate media is finally relenting, although grudgingly, to the pressure applied by virtue of Dr. Paul's rising popularity and his unwavering principles. His message of liberty is finally beginning to sink into t...
Ron Paul, Racism and Conspiracy Theorists
The Ron Paul campaign must really be doing something right. The corporate owned mainstream media is really attacking him with all guns blazing. They dredge up the fear card and accuse him of being a racist. They spin his words and try to frame the argument in a way that, in my opinion, is very disho...
Ron Paul Supporters, Are You Ready to Get Down and Dirty?
Politics is a dirty business. Everyone knows that. It is full of power hungry control freaks who care nothing about transparency, accountability, honesty or principle. They don't want to see government shrink because that would mean their power shrinks. If that's the case, why do we hear so often so...
The Long History of Government Distrust and Abuse
For the Western world, the philosophy of government goes back thousands of years. In the very ancient past, at the dawn of civilization, authoritarian style autocracies dominated. This was likely due to the tribal hierarchy we as a species evolved, and perhaps the need for rulers to organize tasks f...
Evolution and Food, a Different Point of View
I read a paper once on a native American tribe from the southwest. They had a larger than normal occurrence of diabetes. To put it in a nutshell, in trying to determine the cause of this the study found that the loss of a melon that had been natural to their diet contributed greatly to the rise in d...
Silver and Sunshine, the Great Vampire Killers
If you were a parasite with intelligence, how would you design yourself to survive? Well, if it was me, I'd try to convince my victims that I was a necessary part of their lives. Of course to do that, I'd have to be very charming. I'd have to be able to capture their minds, so to speak, to put them ...
999 is 666 Upside Down and Backward
"Let me tell you how it will be, There's one for you, nineteen for me... ...Don't ask me what I want it for, If you don't want to pay some more Cause I'm the taxman, Yeah, I'm the taxman." From Taxman by The Beatles No, I'm not claiming that Herman Cain is the Antichrist, though I'm sure th...
Free Market Jobs and Taxing the Rich
There's been a lot of talk lately coming from the federal government about creating jobs. There's been congressional hearings on the subject. This is a subject near and dear to my heart. What's it been, ten, eleven, twelve years since this economic downturn started? Four or five years into this curr...
Ron Paul; Exposing Establishment Propaganda Since 1976
It is no secret that I am a huge Ron Paul supporter. I wrote quite a few write ups supporting his candidacy during the 2008 campaign. I wrote so much, in fact, that it becomes difficult to say anything that hasn't already been said. That's no big deal. There are many things in life that are worth re...
Aiming Hatred Correctly
The other night I was accused of being a dangerous right wing extremist. This accusation came from someone I considered a friend, someone I play golf with. I knew he was a was an ardent follower of the Democrats, and I had seen him in the past become very emotional when discussing politics, so I alw...
A Tyrant Judge and his Florida Fiefdom
I do not advocate violence. I believe it to be counterproductive. There are times, however, when it seems that one must exercise some form of force to restrain those who think they are superior to the rest of us and deserve special privileges in order to prevent them from doing harm. This can be cal...
The Police State Will Be Videoed and Youtubed
Accountability. This is the one thing many people want when it comes to justice. I would say it was something the vast majority of people want. It is the one thing those in charge do not want. It is one thing those in charge want their enforcers to avoid. They have, in essence, created an atmosphere...
Central Banking Propagandists Sell Economic Poison
The propaganda is coming on hot and heavy since the debt ceiling decision that sold our great grandchildren's future to the banking elite. It seems that someone wants you to think that adding more debt to the already over burdened national line of credit is a good thing. It seems that someone wants ...
A Cash Filled, Central Banking Free Society
Did you watch the show? It was the latest reality show, complete with drama, unexpected twists and all kinds of different personalities clashing with one another. Like all reality shows, it was not really an improvised and unplanned series of events, but was mostly scripted and had a predictable out...
Pirates of Savannah, A Book Review
I must admit, I am a tad bit jealous of Tarrin Lupo. He is a man of many talents, not the least of which is his ability to tell a story. His book, "Pirates of Savannah," is a well crafted historical fiction that recounts a time nearly forgotten and hardly ever mentioned in the study of United States...
Individual Rights, Justice and Policing the World
Lately I have been concentrating my writings on Democrats and their big government programs. This is likely because the president is a Democrat and supposedly his administration is one that pushes the agenda of the Democrats. He has, in my opinion, misrepresented his principles to the American peopl...
Food, Control and the Growing Police State
Food has always been a tool the elite have used to control the masses. When you control the food supply, you control everything, even life and death. A starving man is more likely to sell his soul for a potato then someone with a full tummy. The relatively free market of food production and distribu...
Norway and Violent Lessons of the State
A terrible, terrible tragedy struck Norway on July 22nd, 2011. My heartfelt condolences go out to all that lost someone in those terrorist attacks. It is a horrible thing to lose a loved one in such a violent manner. I cannot express enough my dismay when I heard the news. Norway is perhaps one of t...
War, the Sickness of Empire and Economic Genocide
I've made the claim for some time now that the economy is people. It's you and me trading goods and services on a voluntary basis. It's me providing you with my labor or something I've created, then you providing him with your labor or something you've created, then him providing her with his labor ...
Self Immolation in the First World?
There are many who understand that when someone commits suicide they were likely in great pain. Why else would one end their life? Surely people who feel happy and are filled with joy are not going to suddenly sacrifice their good feelings. When one commits suicide it is likely because they want to ...
Thomas Jefferson Dance, Dance Revolution, a Peaceful Victory
When the Constitution was written way back when, it was supposed to be a blueprint for keeping government tyranny off the backs of the common folk. Part of the way this was supposed to be accomplished was division of power. The federal government was to be divided into three branches of equal power....
Thomas Jefferson and Dancing for Freedom
Of all the most famous founding fathers of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson was perhaps the one who best understood the meaning of freedom. The man himself was not perfect and indeed there are many who love to point out his flaws. One of the main points they make is that he spoke of fr...
The Patriot Act, Fox News, the TSA and Feeling Less Free
The Patriot Act, in my opinion, has been one of the most egregious, liberty violating acts that has ever been passed by congress. It was a knee jerk reaction to the 9/11 attacks. It is so huge and was passed so quickly after that event that any thinking person must realize it had to be written well ...
Evolution, Religion and Mankind's Impact on Climate Change
People carry around many misconceptions in their thought processes. They make all kinds of assumptions that have nothing to do with facts, reasons, or observations. Sometimes this becomes evident in such a way as to take one aback and make one say "huh?" I discovered this personally one day when I b...
Abuse of Power and Ending American Apathy
I remember a conversation I had with my ex father in law a long time ago. It was during a rare occasion where we were working together and the talk turned to politics for some reason. I had almost always been one who voted for third party candidates and I let him know that I did not go by the party ...
The Boogie Man is Dead, Now Fear the Goblins
The Bureau of Protection Against Evil Fairytale Creatures (PAEFC) announced in a news release today that the Boogie Man has been killed. "This goes to show that the trillions of dollars spent and the millions of innocent lives lost in the years of hunting down this dangerous fairytale creature w...
Will Superman Help Restore Honest Money?
One of my first childhood memories involves watching the TV show Batman. This wasn't like the sophisticated, high budget, special effects filled modern movies of today, it was a low budget attempt to turn live actors into cartoons starring Adam West and Burt Ward. I used to love Batman and Robin. I'...
Fiat Diplomas Reducing the Value of Education
By now, most people who have weaned themselves from their dependency on corporate mass media and news, and even some who haven't, understand the concept of fiat currency and how such systems reduce the value of money. Quite quickly, fiat money is money by decree, or legal tender laws where the gover...
Ron Paul Makes Sense Because Freedom Makes Sense
I was talking to my brother the other day about Democrats and Republicans. We were discussing the increasingly obvious perception that there is no difference between the two parties. The reason for this, in my humble opinion, is also obvious. Both Democrats and Republicans lust for power. They want ...
Elegy for my Dad
How does one determine the worth of a life? Certainly one way is by how many other lives he has affected in a positive way. Certainly one way is by how many others knew and loved him. On this basis alone I would say that my dad's life was worth more than all the kings and queens of Europe and all th...
The Dangerous Naivety of the Lone Wolf Theorist
If one listens to the establishment media and talking heads lately, one will hear much about conspiracy theorists. Now of course this term is used to impugn anyone who would endorse such theories. Everyone knows that conspiracy theorists are crazy, right? Everyone knows that government wouldn't lie ...
Free Market Misconceptions in the Blogosphere
I was perusing some blogs the other day when I came upon a comment that struck a nerve in me. It was a comment that I think is indicative of the attitudes of some people who tend to believe in the left side of the political spectrum. I believe these are mostly goodhearted, well intentioned people, b...
The Dream Presidential Campaign and Barack Obama's Birth Certificate
I've given serious thought to simply quitting. These articles take up my time and I simply am not receiving as much financial support as I was hoping I would by this time. It's tough for me to keep from writing, however, when so much excitement is brewing. Even as things look bleak and the world see...
Anti Ron Paul Propaganda and CPAC
Remember in 2008 when Ron Paul was running for president? Remember how scared the corporate mass media was of him? Remember how they misreported and misinformed the public as to his popularity and the nature of his candidacy? One of the points that was constantly driven home by the mainstream propag...
The Murders in Arizona and Attacks on Freedom
Yet another nut job has decided to take his frustrations out on innocent people. This time one Jared Loughner managed to kill six people and wound thirteen others. The dead include a child, 9 year old Christina Green. Also dead are John Roll, Gabriel Zimmerman, Dorwin Stoddard, Dorthy Murray and Phy...
Desperation and Despair, the Devil's Playground
The world is changing. This is nothing new. The world has always been changing. It has always been in constant flux. But the change that's been going on recently has been, well, different yet strangely familiar. In the United States of America, we've seen a definite downturn. Things have changed...
Lies, War, the Patriot Act, and Tea Party Infiltration
I don't quite understand why so many prominent "conservatives" keep promoting war and a larger security/police state. I mean, I think I have an idea as to at least some of the reasons, but with public opposition growing to such policies I wonder if maybe (hopefully) they're hurting their credibility...
Two Golden Rules, One Epic Struggle
There are two versions of the golden rule that I know of. The first, and perhaps the most well known, is you should treat others as you would have them treat you, or some such thing. This philosophy has been paraphrased often and adapted in some form by all the major religions that I know of. It bas...
From Infowar to Propaganda War to Hot War
Someone once said that the first casualty of war is truth. I think that's an astute observation. There are many reasons why this is true, and many excuses. Of course the most prevalent excuse is going to be that of national security. We can't reveal anything to the enemy. We can't let them have an a...
American Day of Laze
The call has gone out by certain youth and worker groups in Saudi Arabia to stage a "Day of Rage" on March 11th. This is in response to the uprisings that have been going on across the Middle East and Northern Africa. The people are demanding a release of political prisoners and the implementation o...
Unions, Politics and Wisconsin Protests
I am torn by the protests in Wisconsin. On the one hand, I am happy to see people coming out in protest and saying no to government power. On the other hand, the reason they are coming out upsets me. You see, I've been unemployed for over two years now. I've run out of "benefits" and I am now comple...
Of Gods and Demons and Mankind
There has always been those among us who believe it is their divine right to rule over other human beings. Back when the Roman Empire ruled over western civilization, the emperors used to believe they were gods. They would present themselves before the "lower classes" and demand to be worshipped. Th...
The Gun in the Room and Public Schools
"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." George Washington The gun in the room allegory refers to the nature of government. While many people do not want to think about it and likely do not want to admit it, governmen...
Aliens, the New World Order and Human Morality
I am, by nature I suppose, quite intrigued with the idea of physical alien beings of equal or superior intelligence living among the stars and occasionally coming to visit this planet. What would you expect from one who writes fantasy, science fiction and horror novels? It is perhaps because of this...
The Violence of the Wings
I don't like to argue using the left/right paradigm. That is something, in my opinion, that the elite have created to divide us and divert our attention away from real issues. Recent events, however, warrant mention of the nature of these two divisive sides. There is at least a perception that the v...
Interpreting the Constitution and Maintaining Common Liberty
A discussion came up recently where it was pointed out that I was just a mere blogger whose opinion didn't matter when it comes to the Constitution of the United States of America. This has actually come up quite often over the course of the last few years as I often use that document when I'm tryin...
Time now to Step up the Rhetoric
I don't watch the state of the union address, ever. I hear the highlights. I get the Reader's Digest version. But I don't sit there and hang on every word like so many other people do. I know what most politicians are like. I don't worship or admire them. When they're talking, they're lying, when th...
Video, Courtrooms, Cops and the Illinois Authoritarian Regime
Illinois is quickly becoming the most authoritarian regime in the United States, if it hasn't already. This is evidenced by the Chris Drew case where he was arrested, while in public, for video recording his arrest by police, who are supposed to be public servants and were doing their public job. Th...
The Fear Created by Fractional Reserve
I don't have to tell you that things are bad. You know that things are bad. Unemployment is rampant. The cost of food and energy is skyrocketing. A police state is encroaching across the land. People across the globe are rioting. Wars are never ending. Hunger and starvation are realities for far too...
Florida Court Says You're too Stupid to Tell Right From Wrong
Ok, the title above is not a quote, but that's essentially what an Orange County judge is saying in a decree he issued January 31st, 2011 declaring it illegal for individuals to distribute flyers or pamphlets, hold signs, talk about or in any way attempt to discuss jury nullification with prospectiv...
Lest We Forget, the Focus Should Be the Fed
Well, there certainly is a lot going on in the news these days. Like the old Chinese curse said, we are living in exciting times. There are many uprisings in North Africa. People are dying in Libya and Saudi Arabia as they struggle against oppression. It looks like they may be gearing up to send tro...
Use Your Imagination, Become the Change
Well, I've learned something. I've learned that supporters of unions can be just as bad as supporters of other religious or political violent organizations. Now, I don't mean to imply that they are themselves violent or that they are bad people. They are, in fact, likely good people with very good i...
The Fallacy of Peace Loving Democrats
Back in 2008 a candidate named Barack Obama ran for president of the United States of America. He ran on a platform of hope and change. Basically, he was sold to the American people as an agent of change who would reverse the war mongering, Bill of Rights shredding policies of the Bush administratio...
World Wide Revolution, or New World Order Enslavement?
I remember listening to a conversation when I was a child, maybe a little more than ten years old. It occurred between two young men that I held great respect for. These young men were highly intelligent, geniuses even, and I knew it. So did they. The discussion they were having revolved around the ...
Want to Blame Someone? Blame the Fed
Are you currently experiencing economic difficulties? It seems like everyone is these days. All kinds of people from all walks of life seem to be having more and deeper financial problems. Normally I would make the claim that a person should blame themselves for their financial woes, but in the real...
Confiscating Liberty, Who are the Real Criminals?
On November 18th, 2007 an article I wrote and called "Confiscating Liberty" was published. In it I discussed how the United States federal government had confiscated precious metals that had been paid for by citizens of the United States. I discussed how they were trying to put a chill on the exchan...
The Farcical Reading of the Constitution
In what I feel is best described as a sort of publicity stunt, the newly seated members of the House of Representatives decided to read aloud the Constitution of the United of America on the floor of the house. Some might claim this to be some kind of big deal, that it shows our politicians have fin...
Government Restrictions Versus Free Market Regulation
I like to write these articles as an attempt to get people to think. Certainly having a platform to voice one's opinion is nice, but for the most part I built the platform I shout from. I am not always right, if being right or wrong are even appropriate terms when it comes to opinion, but I do enjoy...
Congress Would Rather Condemn Shooting Than Do Their Job
The congress today decided to postpone work on reforming the health care bill in order to bring to the floor and vote on a resolution condemning the shooting that took place in Arizona over the weekend. I have to ask, is this really necessary? People all over the world abhor violence. Human beings r...
Corporations and the Federal Government's Bass Ackwards Priorities
If there's anything in this world that should be regulated, it's corporations. If there's anything that centralized government should do, it's protect the common folk from these monstrous behemoths. Some might think that's blasphemy coming from a free market enthusiast like I am. That's because for ...
Lending, Borrowing and Risk
Neither a borrower nor a lender be. These are the words of the bard. Well, at least they're the words a character of the bard spoke to his son. This advice is as wise today as it was back in Shakespeare's time. It may be a little different today than it was back then, but not much. The basics are pr...
Szandor Blestman's Positive Outlook for 2011
As I sit here typing this on the last day of the first decade of the twenty first century, I must say that I'm not sad to see it go. The years from 2001-2010 (the year 2000 having been, in my opinion, the last year of the twentieth century rather than the first year of the twenty first) were the wor...
Zen and the Art of Celebrating Christmas
Christmas was a magical time for me when I was a boy. Everything seemed so much more serene back then. We had time off school, time to spend with family and friends. There were times when we'd go out and play in the snow, build a snowman, have snowball fights, maybe do some sledding, but I seem to r...
Crushing the Disposable Americans
"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mi...
The World's Most Dangerous Animal, a Lame Duck
There are many dangerous animals in the world. What would you say was the most dangerous? Some kind of carnivore? Perhaps a tiger, with its large size, its quickness, and its sharp teeth and claws? Perhaps a bear, with its great strength? Maybe you would think a poisonous snake of some type with its...
Hope and Change Part 2, the Return of the Republicans
So, another mid term election has come and gone. After a mere two years of Democrat rule, we find ourselves back with the Republicans in charge of the House of Representatives, but not quite the Senate. Many people might be celebrating what they might perceive as some kind of great victory. They may...
The TSA, Terrorists and Safety
We must give up our rights for security. That is the cry of the tyrant. That is the cry of the big government apologists. That is the cry of the sheep that don't realize the shepherd is eventually going to eat them. Benjamin Franklin said "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little te...
He Who Leaks Last Leaks Best
War, like everything else, has evolved. It no longer involves the armies of nations and empires lining up on a field of battle and killing each other. It no longer involves troop movements and the taking of strategic territories to outflank the other side. It no longer involves bombing and killing u...
I See Something and I'm Saying Something
In the attempt to turn the United States of America into another Soviet Union, East Germany or fascist tattletale, surveillance state, Homeland Security (can you say motherland?) has expanded their "If you see something, say something" campaign. Walmart, that paragon of free markets and civil libert...
The Ron Paul Revolution Phase 2
Many people were a little depressed when Dr. Ron Paul didn't get the nomination to run as the Republican candidate in the 2008 presidential election. Many activists had fought hard to get his name out there and get him the recognition he deserved. Many people found real hope in his message and were ...
No Need to Question Authority, Government is Good
I've been reading more and more people come out and say it, something is broken in this country. People are beginning to question their "leaders" in government and wonder if they are to blame for the mess the world finds itself in. In fact, it's not just happening in this nation, it is happening wor...
The Precious Gift of Life
In memory of Allison Edwards April 10th, 1988 - Dec. 3rd, 2010 Life is a precious gift. We are all unique and special individuals. Yet so often life is too easily discarded. Too often it is tragically ended. It is at these times we realize too late how many lives we all touch. It is at times lik...
The TSA, Aiding the Cause of Freedom
Has the TSA literally helped Americans find their testicles? Have their over reaching, over reacting policies finally gone too far? These are questions that many in the media have been asking since the implementation of a policy of groping those hapless travelers who decide to opt out of going throu...
Los Angeles Times Editorial Staff, Shut Up, Stay Home and Suck Your Thumbs
This is a response to an editorial published in the Los Angeles Times on November 17th, 2010 entitled "Shut up and be scanned." Normally, I'm not going to be quite that rude, but the Los Angeles Times editorial staff seem to think it's okay to be that rude to any of its readers who believe in exe...
Decentralization in an Age of Globalization
I'm not one known to make predictions about the future, but I am going to make a prediction here. I am going to predict that we're going to start hearing more and more about global government, or global taxes, or global solutions to the ongoing economic crisis in the mainstream corporate media. I ma...
The Scientific Method Versus the Religion of Science
Knowledge is power. That is something that men have known for a long time. If I know something you don't know, there's a chance I'll be able to take advantage of that fact. I can do so honestly by providing a service, for instance if I know something about electronics and you need something fixed, o...
The Imminent Currency Collapse, a Possible Solution
I apologize to my readers in advance for this article as I am going to take a slight left turn to my usual opinion. While I remain a staunch advocate of free markets and a voluntary society, I accept that there is a need to acknowledge the reality that exists. While I believe that the current power ...
Democrats Can Be Tea Partiers Too
There is a popular notion going around that the Tea Party has great influence in this election year. Candidates endorsed by the Tea Party are quite popular. It is also popularly believed that Tea Party candidates are basically revamped Republicans and Neocons. That may be what the Tea Party has beco...
Electronic Voting and Stealing Elections With Media Complicity
I don't trust establishment politicians. I don't trust the establishment media. I don't trust that the two groups don't have unwritten agreements to scratch each others backs. I don't trust the establishment, period. The establishment is not out to look after my best interests, your best interests, ...
Thinking, It's not For Humans Anymore
It doesn't matter what I think. Really. If it did, we'd all be living free right now. We'd all have domain over our bodies and minds. We wouldn't be paying taxes. We wouldn't be worried about the penalties for questioning the authority of strangers who claim to represent our interests. We'd be able ...
Austerity and Riots, a Matter of Broken Trust and Fraud
There are some who might wonder at the recent riots in France. They might want to blame them on the French people being lazy, or greedy, or unwilling to make sacrifices. They might wonder if the French people don't realize that the world is in a financial mess, that we are all going to have to work ...
Inflation and the Federal Reserve Fiat System
I recently engaged in an email exchange with a reader. He was interested in finding out more information about the subjects broached in my article about the financial mess in Iceland released earlier this year. I assumed he was looking for information about central banking and told him about a book ...
Politicians, the Blame Game, the Constitution and the American System
Anyone who has ever had to deal with elected officials, particularly at the federal level, has probably been frustrated trying to get them to listen to your point of view, let alone agree with it. Unless, of course, you have lots of money. It seems to me that the congress critters inhabiting the hal...
The New Green Fascists Threaten Everyone
I used to argue in favor of using green technologies. I used to believe that green technology was the way of the future and that taking steps to conserve energy was good for the planet. I no longer believe such things. Want to know what changed my mind? It was Greenpeace. It was others who were prom...
Why I Still Won't Take a Flu Shot, Even if Paid
It's that time of year again. The flu season is upon us, or should I say the season to push flu shots for the benefit of the bottom line of the big pharmaceutical companies. I am now hearing radio ads, seeing print ads and being generally inundated with pronouncements about the necessity of flu shot...
Pledge to America or a Plague Upon Her?
"There's nothing in the streets, looks any different to me And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye And the parting on the left is now parting on the right And the beards have all grown longer overnight.., Meet the new boss Same as the old boss." From "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who Po...
Taxing the Poor; Creating Victims and Criminals
There's a big, public debate going on right now about whether or not to keep the "Bush era" tax cuts. The Democrats are claiming that anyone making more than a quarter of a million dollars a year should be taxed more to close the national deficit and the Republicans are claiming that these are the v...
Cut Taxes, Cut Spending, Shrink Government
So, I heard part of Barack Obama's speech yesterday. He held some sort of televised "town hall meeting" on CNBC which was entitled "Investing in America Forum." This on the heels of the declaration by The National Bureau of Economic Research that the "recession" ended in June of 2009. I definitely d...
Why Ron Paul Should Run for President in 2012
In an essay written in July of 2007 I posed the question "Can Ron Paul Cure America's Apathy?" A little more than three years later I have to say the answer is no, but I do believe he helped quite a bit. I think he helped open a lot of eyes and educate many. You see, before then I had nearly given u...
Will You Hide a Muslim in Your Attic?
There's some scary stuff happening in this nation right now. It has to do with Muslims. No, I am not afraid of Muslims. No, I do not believe that they are out to destroy our way of life. No, I do not believe that they are inherently violent people who see Christians and Jews as demons that need to b...
Conspiracy Theories, the Lure of Collectivism and the Cycle of Abuse
I read an interesting piece the other day about mass delusion and the economy. It got me to thinking about, of all things, conspiracy theories. It suddenly occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, the reason the powerful can get away with conspiracy, the reason they can cause so much harm and constern...
Fort Hood Disobeys, Politics and Illegal Occupations
A group of activists calling themselves Fort Hood Disobeys recently tried to block the deployment of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment to Iraq from Fort Hood. The activists were labeled anti war protestors by another media outlet, which is okay by me. It's about time we got some action on the anti wa...
Proposition 8 and Democracy
The gay marriage debate is playing out in California. There, the majority of people have spoken. They don't believe that gay people should be allowed to be married. They think that marriage should be defined as one man and one woman. They think that the state should not be allowed to sanction any ot...
Republicans Should Embrace an Anti War Philosophy
I heard a great idea the other day. It was proffered by Stefan Molyneux. We should hold a referendum and find out who favors wars of aggression and foreign occupation and who doesn't. Those in favor of such things should have to pay for them. Those against said wars should receive a tax refund for t...
Perverting the English Language and the Slide into Tyranny
I might not know much about anything, but I do know a little about the English language. I was born in the Midwest of the United States where it is the spoken language of the vast majority. I also actually studied it in college and, yes, we did actually delve into its history and closely examine how...
Wikileaks, Exposing the Ugly Reality of Modern Warfare
I watched a show called "Freedom Watch" with Judge Andrew Napolitano not long ago. He was discussing the recent release of documents by an organization known as Wikileaks. I'm sure most of you know the story, but for those who may not, Wikileaks was given over 90,000 documents detailing questionable...
Old New World Order Goal, World Empire
The New World Order is not new. It is actually controlled by very old, very wealthy families. It is likely at least partially the brainchild of European royalty that should have faded into the sunset a long time ago, along with their central banking agents. Somehow, these royal families have managed...
Time to Stop Listening to the Corporate Ph.D. Economists
Well, at least some of them. I read an article lately in which some Economics Ph.D. tried to convince me (and anyone else who reading his essay) that economics was really, really complicated. A gentleman named Kartik Athreya penned an essay entitled "Economics is Hard. Don't Let Bloggers Tell You Ot...
Feeding the too Big to Succeed
In 1996 I quit smoking, cold turkey. Not long after this accomplishment, I managed to put on about forty pounds. It has yet to disappear. Don´t get me wrong, I´m not complaining. I´m glad I quit smoking. It was a nasty habit I wished I had never picked up and I wasn´t going t...
Modern Political Prisoners in America
When I was growing up, I learned in school that one of the reasons the United States of America was better than the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was because we didn't hold political prisoners in our jails. That was something the bad, bad communists did. That was something that was done in com...
A Week of Living Free at Porcfest
Home is where the heart is. That's what I've heard. I think that perhaps one can't fully understand that old saying until he loses his heart to a place. I have recently discovered this on a personal basis when I was able to spend a week camping in New Hampshire at the Porcupine Freedom Festival put ...
Requiem for the Unemployed
I'm in some serious trouble, folks. You see, as many of you know, I've been out of work since January 2009. I've looked for work, but it is more difficult for me to find work as a fifty year old man than it might be for a young twenty year old buck. I've looked for work, but it's tough to find a job...
Move Along Federal Government and Let the Locals Work
A while back, not long after this oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico began to get some attention from the press, I was talking to this girl I know. Now this girl is as common as a common person can get. She's a product of the public schools and a consistent diet of mindless television and the news prop...
Subtle Modern Tyranny at Work
The quest for freedom is worldwide. People have been tyrannized for too long and wish relief from such tyranny that freedom would provide. Governments wish to maintain their power and control over the common folk and continue striving to keep them down and obedient in any way possible. In some count...
To the Graduates of the Government Indoctrination Centers
My youngest daughter graduated from high school this year, or as I like to call it, the government indoctrination center. I had the opportunity to attend her commencement. It was surprisingly not as boring as I thought it was going to be. A retiring English teacher gave a pretty good speech she call...
Judges are Fallible Human Beings Too
We are all human beings. Sometimes, we get into disputes. Since it is not always wise to partake in physical conflict, nor is it necessarily the fairest method, people through the ages have tried to figure out ways to implement better, fairer, more just dispute resolution methods. Once upon a time t...
Stop Badgering Dr. Rand Paul and Stick to Real Issues
szandorblestman.com A few nights ago, Dr. Rand Paul won the Kentucky primary race against Mr. Trey Grayson and became the Republican nominee for one of the Kentucky US Senate seats. Up until that point the story in the media had been more or less sweet on Dr. Rand Paul. They reported quite fairly...
Politicians Use Devious Mind Tricks to Protect the Fed
szandorblestman.com There is no issue in the world today more important, in my opinion, than the issue of the nature of the Federal Reserve and central banking and replacing this system with a fairer, more equitable, more accountable system. I believe that fiat money systems are at the root of mo...
Arizona, States´ Rights and Immigration
szandorblestman.com I had an interesting conversation the other day about the recent immigration law passed in Arizona. I was asked what I thought about the situation. I had to admit that this issue was a tough one to form an opinion about. I have my opinion on immigration in general, but I don´t...
Hatred, Intolerance, Violence and the Southern Poverty Law Center
szandorblestman.com "Haven´t you heard, it´s a battle of words the poster bearer cried. Listen son, said the man with the gun there´s room for you inside." From the Pink Floyd song "Us and Them" There is a change occurring in the modern world, a fluctuation of ideas. Stud...
Wall Street Deceit and Main Street Revulsion
szandorblestman.com I had the misfortune of listening to CNBC the other day while visiting my mother. The talking heads on the tube were discussing the surge in stock prices and the lifting of the DOW Industrials above the eleven thousand mark. They went on and on about how much of a psychologica...
Sound Money and Schoolyard Politics
szandorblestman.com Economics is not rocket science. In fact, most everyone learns the basics of economics when they´re children. It´s quite simple, really, like math. If you have something I want and I have something you want, we can trade. We´re both happy. That´s really about it. Oh, sure, the...
Media Downplay of Ron Paul´s Popularity Reflects Establishment Fears
We are not stupid. This becomes more and more evident as time goes on. Oh, sure, many of us are or were apathetic. Many of us living amongst this mass of humanity residing in this land designated The United States of America have given up hope of effecting change in the political system and have bec...
Teaching Aikido to Sheep
Sheep have a big problem. They don´t have the greatest knowledge of self defense. Mostly, they count on their shepherd to protect them. They gather themselves together in herds and pass their time in the pastures just eating grass. Should they wander away from the herd, they take the chance of...
Militias, Political Activists, Government Agents, and Violence Against Politicians
Not long after the unconstitutional Obamacare bill was signed into law, I began to hear reports of violence against those congress critters who had voted for the law. I didn´t know quite what to think of this. On one hand, I know that violence against the system will only cause a backlash from...
Eulogy for Rose Tomita
(Rose Tomita – January 20, 1932 – March 7, 2010. She was a remarkable woman. There are not enough like her in this world. We could all learn a thing or two from her life. The world is a poorer place for her passing. She shall be missed. What follows is the reading I gave for her at her remembrance)....
Passing Health Care Legislation is Not the End
We hear time and again how great democracy is, yet our politicians time and again refuse to listen to the majority. Not to mention, they manipulate facts and propagandize truth in order to try to spin public opinion in favor of their position. Does anyone really think that this legislation is meant ...
Dennis Kucinich Loses His Nerve on Air Force One
I doubt very much that anyone has ever accused me of being a Democrat. I don´t know of too many Democrats that adhere to the principles of freedom and individualism as I do. Sure, I share their anti-war views for the most part, but that´s just one issue. And the Democrats actually have a...
Iceland, the Mouse that Roared
I thought I heard something the other night. It was a distant sound, a low rumbling, a roar from some far off beast that had finally pronounced its presence. It woke me for a second, but it was so distant I felt no threat and simply rolled over and went back to sleep. The next morning I learned that...
J Patrick Bedell, More Blowback?
A thirty six year old man decided to commit suicide on March 4th, 2010. His name was John Patrick Bedell. Perhaps he didn't make that decision consciously, no one can be certain what he was thinking as he acted out the last moments of his life, but regardless his death was the inevitable outcome of ...
Why the Treasonous Patriot Act Was Renewed
I have a friend and former coworker who is completely enamored and has total faith in Mr. Barack Obama and the Democrat party. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The guy is a complete sports nut, knowing more about the stats of former and present baseball and football players than he knows about anyt...
Social Security and Entitlement Mentality
My mother is a retired Certified Financial Planner. She worked for many years helping people figure out the best ways to invest their money to ensure a stable and prosperous retirement. The other day I called her and she, knowing my proclivity for writing about such things, proceeded to voice a part...
Joe Stack, Example of Blowback?
I just learned of a story where a man, Joe Stack, flew an airplane into a building in Austin, Tx. I first wish to express my concern and heartfelt condolences to any victims and their families who may have suffered as a result of this man´s desperate act. It´s a shame when anyone suffers...
Debra Medina, Glenn Beck, 911 Truth and the Importance of Private Property
I´ve been paying particular attention to the governor´s race in Texas of late, particularly the Republican primary for that position. There´s a woman running, a true champion of freedom. She understands the concept of liberty. She embraces it. She offers real solutions to real prob...
Compromising the Freedom Movement
I am a huge Ron Paul supporter. His voting record speaks for itself. It is as freedom oriented and constitutional as anyone could hope for. How many other politicians can say that? Not too many, if any at all. That´s why I wrote so much about him when he was running for president. That´s...
Stealing Dreams, Creating Nightmares
In my lifetime, I've had more dreams than I care to think about stolen from me. Well, perhaps they weren't stolen, perhaps just postponed. The most significant occurrence was probably when my first publisher went out of business due to embezzlement. The owner and his son managed to lose several mill...
Natural Law, Justice, Oaths and Contradictions
Lately there´s been a controversy playing out over an organization known as LEAP and an outspoken member over there named Bradley Jardis. LEAP stands for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and Bradley Jardis was a law enforcement officer who was against laws prohibiting drugs. The controversy...
The Treasonous Corporate Media
I have a small following. There are not millions of people yet reading my commentaries and hanging on every word. More and more are waking up to the ideas I express, but there are many other people besides me, thank god, that are also expressing these ideas. There are many others who are likely bett...
Scott Brown, Establishment Clown
Well, Scott Brown, Republican, beat out Martha Coakley, Democrat, in a race that was never supposed to be even close. Now the mainstream media acts surprised and some in the alternative media are crowing about how much of a difference this is going to make and how the people have spoken. Well, I&acu...
The Destructiveness of Taxes
My mother prepares taxes. She´s in her seventies now and she still prepares them for some of the clients she served when she was a financial planner. Many of them trust no one else. I am one of the people who trust her to save the most or get the most back when it comes to taxes. I´ve never had ...
War, Torture, Neocon Terror and Obama´s Betrayal
It´s nearly a year into Mr. Obama´s first term as president and already the trail of broken promises leads to the doors of the big banks and authoritarian rule by the corporate elite. If it has not become obvious to you by now who pulls Mr. Obama´s strings, or if you still believe ...
Why Wait? Put Me in Jail Now
So, on Christmas Eve, at a time when most people were paying no attention to the shenanigans going on in Washington, DC, the Senate of the United States of America pushed forward with its health care agenda that puts the health care of America in the hands of politicians rather than physicians. No s...
HHO Tek, Energy Conservation Available Now
Quite often I write about my doubts about the validity of human driven climate change. Some people seem to think this means I don't care about the environment. They seem to think I believe that mankind has no impact on the natural world. This is, of course, untrue. I am, in fact, very concerned abou...
2009 Continental Congress: The Final Document
The quest for individual liberty has not ended. For ten historic days in November, 2009, from the 11th to the 21st, delegates from forty eight of the fifty states met in St. Charles, Illinois to discuss the unconstitutional usurpations of the federal government of the United States of America and pe...
The Young Green Fascists
Man made climate change is not a scientific debate. Al Gore declared it so. He declared that the science was in and the debate was over. Many others have followed suit. Politicians parrot his work to try to make themselves look heroic as they claim they wish to "save the planet" by taxing carbon dio...
Christmas Time and the Dream of Peace
At this time of year, as the cold wraps its fingers around the Midwest and coats it in a blanket of snow, one is inclined to reflect on past events and give thanks for past accomplishments. One can also reflect on failures he may have had and make plans for the future that will hopefully correct pas...
The Camera Really is the New Gun
Judge Andrew Napolitano likes to say that the camera is the new gun. He is more right than even he may know. Cameras in the hands of ordinary citizens are something that most bureaucrats have a deathly fear of. They are more afraid of a common man with a camera than they are of giant hairy spiders. ...
Human Driven Climate Change; Greed and the Manipulation of Science
I do have a bit of a science background. Granted, it's not much, but it is enough to understand certain concepts that others might have trouble wrapping their minds around. It was at least partially due to this background, due to being trained in the scientific method, observation, and critical thin...
The Corporate Media's Dancing Monkeys
I remember at one point during the Bush years, when things looked particularly dark and the police state was closing in, I saw Youtube clips of a man by the name of Keith Olbermann speak poignantly to power about the evisceration of our constitution. He pointed out to President Bush that most of the...
2009 Continental Congress: Historical Observations and Outlook
History has a strange way of repeating itself. In the late 1700s, in America, people were experiencing the culmination of the Enlightenment. They were on the fringes of the greatest empire at the time, an empire run by the parliamentary monarchy of King George III in a land far from the colonies. As...
2009 Continental Congress: First Thoughts and Impressions
There's an anger roiling throughout American society. Perhaps it reaches overseas into all of Western society, I can't say, but it's particularly palpable here, especially among the middle classes. People know that something is wrong. They may not be able to put their finger on exactly what is wrong...
The Importance of the Constitution in Reclaiming the Republic Peacefully
Nancy Pelosi was recently asked where in the Constitution she (and congress) got the power to pass laws involving health care. Her reply was "Are you serious?" That was the best answer this woman could come up with? Are you serious? Is she serious? The woman supposedly took an oath to uphold the Con...
Shame on the Big, Centralized, World Government Deniers
I had nothing better to do the other day and was browsing through some blogs and some news stories. I was surprised to see so many people still vehemently arguing about the reality of climate change and insisting that something needs to be done about it. Many pointed to this graph and that graph, th...
Gaining Free Health Care, Losing Freedom
One of my brothers suffers from diabetes. He often complains about health care in this country. But you won't find him complaining about its cost. He doesn't complain because he can't get health care. He's a teacher with great insurance and access to all the doctors one could possibly hope for. Ther...
Copenhagen, Carbon Emissions and World Government
I was contacted earlier by some readers of my articles and asked for my view on the events scheduled to take place in December in Copenhagen. This was something I had only recently heard about and therefore had little knowledge of. I quickly discovered a speech on climate change given by Lord Monckt...
A Fair Warning to the Establishment Upper Echelon
It seems the political establishment in this country continues to ignore their constitutional roots. They decided long ago to do away with this document and head down their own path regardless of the consequences to the American people and the ideals upon which this nation was built. By doing this t...
Ron Paul's Principles Should Hijack Both Parties
I used to consider myself a Republican. That was long ago and far away. It began with the presidential candidacy of a man named Ronald Reagan. He said some pretty profound things like "Government isn't the solution to the problem, government is the problem" and "The nine most terrifying words in the...
The Ignoble Nobel Peace Prize
I have lost all respect for the Nobel Peace Prize. Not that they've had that great of a track record when it comes to who gets this award, but by giving it to Barack Obama they have done away with all pretense of actually caring about peace in the world. Perhaps a better name for this award would be...
Why I Won't Be Taking Any Flu Shot This Year (Even if it's Free)
I took the flu shot one year. It was offered at work and paid for by my employer. Most of us employees lined up happily, filled out the forms, answered the questions the nurses asked, rolled up our sleeves and took the shot. A few days later, I was sick as a dog. I'd never been so sick in my life. I...
Time Now For a New Enlightenment
"Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem." Ronald Reagan The Age of Enlightenment, in my opinion, started even before the mid seventeenth century as some historians would argue. This is because I believe that the undercurrents that brought about the Enlightenme...
Making Chartarum
"Row, row, row your boat Gently down the stream, Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream." Verse from a famous childhood song I´ve always wanted to be an actor. I was able to pursue that dream for a while when I was younger, when I was in high school and had no real fina...
Freedom and Peace Are Non-Partisan Issues
I was glad to see that Cindy Sheehan finally decided to protest Barack Obama's war policy. I was beginning to wonder what had happened to the anti-war movement in this country. I hope her decision will help to reinvigorate peace activists. I also hope that perhaps many who were involved in the peace...
Teaching Obama to Children (And Maybe Some Adults)
I've heard that on Tuesday, September 8th, 2009 Mr. Obama plans on addressing the school children residing in the United States of America. It is my understanding that his speech will address issues such as national service, health care, and other items on the administration's agenda. It is also my ...
Uprooting the Wild Rose Bush
I know that I usually write about politics, but I thought that this week I'd switch gears and write a little something about gardening. I used to have a little garden of my own that I'd take care of, but as life would have it I have lost my home and now live in an apartment, so I have a garden no lo...
Gun Propaganda and the Health Care Reform Illusion
I'm getting very upset by what I've been seeing since this health care issue has come to the fore. I'm becoming really angry by how much my intelligence has been insulted. I'm beginning to feel like the man who has to explain to his friends that Criss Angel is not really defying the laws of physics....
Derelict Politicians Aren't Reading the Bills
Are you paying attention? Have you been listening to what the politicians have been saying? Have you been listening and noticing the mainstream media's twist on recent happenings? I don't mean have you been simply hearing the words and seeing the images, I mean have you been truly listening and payi...
Politicizing Healthcare and Diverting Attention
I watched some videos on Youtube recently and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. Thousands of people across the nation have been attending town hall meetings to express their concerns, vent their anger and demand that their representatives vote no on the proposed health care bill, AKA Obamacare...
Ron Paul and Alternative Leadership
I realize I write a lot about Ron Paul. I make no apologies for that. He is out on the forefront of a new freedom movement, a movement that is gaining strength as more and more people begin to understand its true nature. There are two divergent ideologies at odds in the world today, collectivism and...
Democracy; Only Good When it Serves the Elite?
"The American republic; it's not your founding forefathers' representative democracy anymore" Szandor Blestman I'm not a huge fan of democracy. I think it's over rated and that the propaganda espousing its greatness has indoctrinated many people into believing that mob rule is the best political...
Spilling the Blood of the Peaceful
I´ve recently moved. As a result, I´ve been meeting new and interesting people. The more neighbors I meet, the more common folk I speak with, the more I realize that the vast majority of people realize and understand the principles upon which this country was built and that our governmen...
More American Injustice, the Ed and Elaine Brown Deception
I had the pleasure of being a guest on a radio show hosted in part by Elaine Brown. I found her to be intelligent and engaging. This was, of course, a couple of years ago, just before federal agents arrested the Browns for pointing out to all of us the inherent immorality of extorting money from hon...
A Slave By Any Other Name Would Still Be Owned
Do you believe you own yourself? If so, you may come to believe differently by the time you´re done reading this article. If not, do you believe you ought to own yourself? These are fundamental questions that many have pondered over the millennia. They are basic to the principles of liberty. I h...
Dissidents, Hate Speech, Free Speech and Propaganda
I saw Glenn Beck the other day talking about the shooting at the holocaust memorial. On this particular program he wasn´t so much reporting the facts of the case as he was regaling us with his opinion. It appears as if this man James von Brunn has set a tempest upon us with his despicable action. On...
Journalists, Political Intrigue and Controlling Your Thoughts
Once again imprisoned journalists have made the news. This time two lovely women have suffered a fate I would not wish upon my worst enemy. I am talking about the two American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who were sentenced to twelve years hard labor for the crime of supposedly entering Nor...
Talking to Demons, Living With Humans
Throughout history there have been occasions where one group of humans would demonize another group of humans. This happens most prevalently during times of war. It is, after all, easier for most to kill a foul beast than it is to kill a fellow human being. It is also easier to justify inhumane trea...
Obama, Torture, Ron Paul and the DC Warmongers
A while back I started hearing about Barack Obama´s decision to maintain Bush era military tribunals. There was some speculation that some people of a certain political persuasion may have a problem with this decision. Certain people that may have supported and voted for Mr. Obama in November´s elec...
The Most Frightening Monster Ever
As an author of horror novels, I have a fascination with evil creatures that force their ways into the lives of innocents for nefarious purposes. I think classical monsters are the best. They can all fall into certain categories. Dracula, or vampire type monsters, lull and mesmerize their victims in...
Iran, Less Tyrannical Than New Hampshire?
I have this problem. I like to express my opinions in commentaries such as the one you´re reading now. I´ve been doing so for a little over three years now and have yet to make a penny from it. I´ve noticed that some people seem to appreciate my opinion more than others. I do my best to remain polit...
Of Rights and Privileges
Sometimes it becomes necessary to better define words and terms in order to get a clearer understanding of concepts that are often times nebulous at best and misrepresented at worst. This is especially true of words in the English language which have more than one meaning. Often times these same wor...
A Tale of Two Journalists; Roxana Saberi and Sam Dodson
I have recently written separate commentaries on two jailed journalists. One, Roxana Saberi, has received a great deal of attention from the mainstream media and her case has been widely reported on and disseminated across the globe. The other case is that of Sam Dodson. His case has gotten virtuall...
The Road to Freedom is Paved With Disobedience
You have most likely broken the law. As you sit there right now, reading this, you are probably doing or have done something recently that has transgressed some statute, some rule of government. You haven´t done anything to harm another, you haven´t stolen or damaged the property of anot...
Media Complicity and the Bravery of the Independent Journalist
Many have now heard about the plight of Roxana Saberi and her recent espionage conviction handed down by the contemptible Iranian authorities. To sum things up for those who may not know, Ms. Saberi is a person of dual citizenship, born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota but also a citizen of Iran. S...
President Obama, Slick Salesman For Banksters?
I watched another one of Mr. Obama´s speech a couple of days ago on television. I couldn´t help but feel I was being sold a bill of goods. I couldn´t help but feel I was being asked to buy something I knew I couldn´t afford and was likely not going to use. I felt as if I had ...
Ron Paul, Right About the Economy, Right About Freedom
Last year at this time, a presidential campaign captured the interest of many in the nation. Tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of voters like me supported the candidacy of Dr. Ron Paul, a long time Republican congressman from Texas. Those of us who are interested in liberty and personal independen...
Dreaming Evolution in the Twenty First Century
I had a discussion a while back with one of my daughters in which I was accused of being an idealist. I asked her what she was if not an idealist and she said she was a realist. Upon reflection, the situation strikes me as being just a little bit odd. Isn´t it supposed to be the other way around? Ar...
Lost Souls in the Cult of State Worship
I have a couple of friends who are true believers. They are older gentlemen, otherwise very intelligent and quite capable of making their own decisions and running their own lives, but for some reason they have chosen to put their faith in a place where perhaps it doesn´t belong. As good c...
Constitutionalists, Ron Paul Supporters and Real Terrorists
By now many of you have probably heard about the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) report that labeled constitutionalists, Ron Paul supporters and others as possible domestic terrorists. When I first heard about it my first thought was something like, "Oh no, here we go again. The governme...
When Horse Theft is State Sanctioned
The day after the Liberty Forum ended, as I was still driving home from that magnificent event, I heard the news that Brian Travis´ property in Candia, New Hampshire had been raided by area police, a couple of veterinarians and a representative of the SPCA. The alleged purpose of this raid was for t...
My Liberty Forum Report
I had the good fortune to be able to spend the weekend of March 5th – March 8th of 2009 attending the Liberty Forum in Nashua, New Hampshire which was put on by The Free State Project. To say I was energized and excited by the happenings there would be an understatement. Words can not begin to descr...
Stimulus, Bailouts and Feeding the Sharks
Recently I´ve been hearing stories in the news of congressmen and senators complaining about the salaries and bonuses of certain CEOs in certain businesses. Now, I´m no fan of high paid CEOs and I doubt very much that any of them actually deserve to be rewarded with the obscene amounts they get paid...
The Dark Side of the Law of Attraction
Many people might find it hard to fathom that the Law of Attraction has a dark side. It seems such a fine, positive, happy law that it seems impossible that something could actually be dangerous about it. And yet, in my mind, there is a growing shadow, a creeping suspicion that somewhere in the univ...
It´s no Secret, the Theory of Directed Effort
Recently I was involved in a discussion about what has become known as "The Law of Attraction." It became rather heated. It seems to me that some proponents of this "law" have a tendency to become rather fervent in its defense when its premises are questioned. As so often happens during a verbal int...
Mr. Obama´s Magical Oratorical Stimulus
A couple of days ago, Mr. Obama addressed his fellow Democrats. He gave a speech which some in the media characterized as partisan and derisive to the Republicans who have opposed his stimulus plan all along. I have to admit, Mr. Obama is a good public speaker. Most politicians are. It´s tough to ob...
Government Propagandists and Tax Cheats
I heard an interesting bit of propaganda the other day. According to CBS news, an IRS survey showed that ninety percent of Americans feel it´s wrong to cheat on their income taxes. Ninety percent! That´s a huge percentage. This got me to thinking, "Who are these people?" Certainly if nin...
The Futility of Hope (or Hoping For Change)
"Be the change that you want to see in the world." Mohandas Ghandi I was discussing recent events with my mom the other day and she told me not to worry about my unemployment situation, that 2009 was going to be a year of "change." Now, I love my mother dearly, but the problems with that stateme...
The Folly of the Illinois Air Team Part 2: Creating Economic Stress Through Government
I am not a rich man. Those of you who read my column likely know this. It seems I have struggled my entire adult life to make ends meet. Although I have always worked hard and have always been able to hold down a job and do it well, it seems I´ve never been able to get ahead. I haven´t l...
A Small Act of Kindness in a Cold World
On Friday, January 9th 2009 I was laid off. It came as a shock to me. I´m in a position in the company where I didn´t think they could afford to lay me off. I know and do things in the company no one else knows how to do. I was the supervisor of a department and we had just started a new project tha...
Blagojevich, the Media and the Race Card
I don´t like to write about politics. That last statement might come as a surprise to some of my regular readers. "Szandor," you might think, "You love to write about politics. You do it all the time." Well, the last part of that statement may be true, but the first part is actually a misconception....
Courtrooms, Cameras, Police, Kopbusters and Yolanda Madden
Here in Illinois, at least in DuPage County, when one walks into the county courthouse one is not allowed to take so much as a camera phone in. I´ve often wondered about this. I´ve thought to myself, at times, "I wonder what they´re so afraid of." It seems to me that this is a public building, so ar...
The United States is No Longer the Land of Opportunity
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. The Inherent Danger of Perpetuating the Santa Claus Myth
I am not a curmudgeon. I won´t tell you that Santa´s name is unsettlingly close to Satan´s or that by believing in him you´re paying homage to the wrong mythical being. I think there is plenty of love in this world and inside everyone to love as many mythological beings as you want. I do, in fact, l...
Everyone Wants to Be Bailed Out, No One Wants to Earn
The mantra of the modern man seems to be "Hey, where´s mine?" Many individuals seem to be so worried about what the other guy is getting, and how he´s getting it, that quite a number of us are starting to question the fairness of the system. Many people are beginning to understand that t...
Free Markets Good, Socialism and Government Regulation Bad
I´m tired of hearing politicians and the media blaming our current economic downturn we´re in, i.e. the recession, on the free market. There is so much that is wrong with that characterization that I hardly know where to begin with my objections. I guess I could start by stating the obvi...
Couch Enforcement in Keene New Hampshire – Politically Motivated?
The word soviet means council, as in city council or a committee. It is a democratically elected body of people set up with the purpose of controlling the lives of others. These people would get together and plan the lives of those in their local communities, answering to higher up, larger soviets u...
Tyrannical Couch Laws and a Contemptible New Hampshire Court
Ian Freeman, AKA Ian Bernard, hosts quite a unique and successful talk show called Free Talk Live. His innovations in the field led me to start listening to talk radio again. His approach is simple, let anyone who wants to call in talk about anything he wants to talk about. It´s kind of a free...
Credit, the Road to a One World Elitist Government
Many average Americans, indeed many average citizens around the world, are beginning to wonder exactly what is happening with the world economy. They are worried as they see their savings shrink. They are worried as they hear about the credit crisis. They are worried as they see institutions fail fi...
The Election is Over, We Lost, Time For Revolution
Yes, I know, the election is still a couple of days away. It doesn´t matter. Perhaps I´m a little cynical, but I believe this election was decided long ago, maybe even as long as two years ago. At the very least, about a year ago we were already hearing about John McCain and this newcome...
The True Nature of Change
There´s been a lot of talk about change in this year´s presidential campaign. Apparently, both the Democrat and Republican candidates seem to believe they can deliver change to the American people. And, of course, no matter which candidate is elected there will be change. The questions a...
Big Bailout, Shafting the Honest Folk
Were you paying attention? Did you hear them speaking? Did you listen to what they were saying? Perhaps you did, but I can say this, I don´t believe they listened to you. In fact, they more or less proved they don´t care about you one iota, unless you happen to be one of their wealthy fr...
Taxing the Middle Class Into Oblivion
A friend of mine, Jon, initiated a conversation with me the other day. He wanted to tell me a story. You see, he had recently received his property tax bill. Of course, his taxes had gone up. It seems the government had his house appraised and felt it was worth more than it had been last year. Never...
Bailout Blues – Bumming Billions
I went on a tirade the other day. I told my coworker that just this once I was abandoning my libertarian principles of non initiation of force and doing no harm. There are men in this world, men who have all the money and all the power, who just keep taking and taking from the common folk. They just...
A Vote For Chuck Baldwin is Not Wasted
A couple of weeks ago I wrote an article about Ron Paul´s ability to raise money and Bob Barr´s failure to do so. In the course of that article I expressed my impressions of some of the other third party candidates in a not too favorable light. This was also an expression of my frustrati...
A Third Party Vote is Not Wasted
Recently, I wrote an article explaining my views on why Ron Paul was able to gain so much support from the common man and raise the kind of money he did while Bob Barr was not. I half expected to get some emails from Bob Barr supporters telling me I was wrong, but that never happened. Instead, I got...
Police and the Mainstream Media, Government´s Most Obedient Pets
I grew up in the sixties. Yeah, I was just a little kid, but I remember quite a bit of what was going on. I guess I have a pretty good memory. I watched a war in Vietnam on television. I watched protesters take to the streets. I saw a lot of violence on the evening news. Back then, the reporters got...
Ron Paul´s Successes, Bob Barr´s Failures
Most of us who are paying attention know about the Ron Paul candidacy´s ability to raise money. The money bombs that catapulted him into the national spotlight for a time were strokes of genius that politicos will be talking about for years. They were, in fact, such a good idea that many other...
A Speech to be Read by Ron Paul to the RNC
Some time ago, in the spring of 2008, I was contacted by someone involved with Ron Paul´s candidacy and asked to write a speech to be given at the RNC. It was to be a speech designed to entice the undecided delegates into casting their votes for Ron Paul to run for the office of President of t...
A Speech for the RNC Supporting a Ron Paul Candidacy
Some time ago, in the spring of 2008, I was contacted by someone involved with Ron Paul´s candidacy and asked to write a speech to be given at the RNC. It was to be a speech designed to entice the undecided delegates into casting their votes for Ron Paul to run for the office of President of t...
Texas Tyranny and Braveheart Sam
I have a new hero. He calls himself Sam I am and he´s from Texas. He has bravely decided to take on a gang of thugs, liars and thieves armed with nothing but a camera. He put his life and fortune at risk to expose these criminals. He rattled their cages a little and got under their skin. He to...
Politicians, Gods and Messiahs
I heard a conversation take place the other day where one person was explaining to another how he felt about Barack Obama. He told this woman that to him, and to people in his generation, Barack Obama represented the same hope that Jack Kennedy had represented to that generation. This statement sent...
The Fear of Failure, the Failure to Allow Failure
When I was in the fourth grade, I had a friend named Andy. I walked to school with him every day. Back then we had neighborhood schools, so we were allowed to walk home at lunch time to enjoy a home made meal. People might say that times were different then, that people were different, but I don&acu...
An Open Letter to My Alien Friends Visiting Earth
Hello and welcome to planet Earth. I trust your trip was a pleasant one. To be honest I´ve always believed you existed. I know some of us here have a little problem believing in you guys, but I´ve always figured in such a big universe with so many planets that you guys had to exist. I...
What´s So Scary About Freedom?
It seems to me that many Americans have given up on the concept of freedom, perhaps the majority of them. This is evident when you consider the "what´s in it for me?" mentality that many people take with them when they go to the polls to cast their votes. Many people are going to vote for a ca...
An Open Response to DoJ Antitrust Div. Explaining Sean Dix´s Antitrust Accusations
A couple days ago I read an article by Mary Sparrowdancer explaining the predicament of one Sean Dix, the inventor of a simple yet revolutionary product for flossing teeth. Ms. Sparrowdancer struck me as a thoughtful, intelligent, trustworthy individual and a principled reporter. She did an excellen...
I Refuse to Abandon My Freedom Loving Friends in the United States of America
Recently, I wrote an article explaining the tyranny of seatbelt laws and pointing out some basic flaws in the system that make me question of the reality of our supposed freedom in this nation. In my opinion, we are no longer a free people and instead have become, for the most part, a nation of shee...
Revolution Ron Paul Style, the Fun is Just Beginning
As anyone who has been paying attention to the Ron Paul r3VOLution knows, the movement was never really about getting Ron Paul elected president – although that certainly should have happened considering the other (cough) candidates and it would have been the icing on the cake – it was about getting...
FISA – Obama, the Democrats and the Mass Media Betray US Again
In the year 2006, well before the new century was more than a decade old, the American people decided they´d had enough of the Republicans´ shenanigans. Specifically, they´d had enough of George W. Bush and his administration lying us into war, violating the constitution and doing ...
The Tyranny of Seatbelt Laws
In Illinois there is a law that says one must wear their seatbelt when driving their car. Should a member of a state sanctioned gang known as the police pull you over and find you are not wearing your seatbelt, they are instructed to write a citation instructing you to either mail your tribute to on...
Ron Paul, America´s Best Hope, Not the Last
As most Ron Paul supporters know, he has suspended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. This has upset many people I know, a couple of my coworkers specifically. Valentine seemed especially upset with this and came in Tuesday morning with his head hung low and in poor spirits bec...
The Presumptive Republican Nominee and That Other Guy.
I´ve noticed lately that the media has taken to calling John McCain the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. It´s a strange sort of twist considering that a couple months ago they seemed so certain that McCain was the Republican presidential nominee. It wasn´t so long ago t...
The Death of the Libertarian Party
Over the Memorial Day weekend the Libertarian Party picked a candidate to run for president. In doing so, it managed to rid itself of any significance it had ever had. The presidential candidate it picked was a conservative named Bob Barr, a former Republican whose voting record on issues of persona...
Gay Marriage, Socialism and Freedom
Recently California´s Supreme Court ruled that gay people could marry each other. Personally, I don´t see what the big deal is. Why do you need to ask permission from the government to live with someone in a manner you both see fit? I lived with the same woman for nineteen years without ...
Ron "Speed Racer" Paul
When I was a child, my friends and I used to rush home from school to watch the next installment of the cartoon "Speed Racer." It was my favorite cartoon. For whatever reason, I was always anxious to see how Speed would get out of the trouble he was in at the end of the last episode and what new pro...
We Won the War, Time to Get Our People Home Revisited
I heard John McCain say that if he was elected president he felt the war in Iraq could be won by the time his first term ended. He also made the claim that most of our troops would be out of Iraq by then. This from the man who not too long ago crowed that he felt fine about keeping our troops in Ira...
The True Cost of Debt
I´ve heard that in 1913, before the Federal Reserve was created, eighty percent of homes owned by Americans were owned outright. Could you imagine that? Eighty percent of the families living in single family homes didn´t have to pay a mortgage. They had all that extra money to spend on o...
Ron Paul Is Not Done Yet
Reports of Ron Paul´s early demise were greatly exaggerated. Above all else, he still survives. He is still in the running for the presidential nomination. Like a baseball team going into the bottom of the ninth down ten to nothing, there is still hope, though perhaps not as much hope as we wo...
Juries, Taxes, Wesley Snipes and American Injustice
Recently, Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for not paying his taxes. He was acquitted of tax fraud and conspiracy charges, but convicted of three counts of the misdemeanor charge of failure to file tax returns. I´ve read and heard some stuff about this case that is rather d...
Two Years Later, Politeness and Respect are Still Relevant
Two years ago today I was given an opportunity by americanchronicle.com and I decided to start writing and posting opinion articles. I made that decision while I was sitting with a friend at a local Chili´s. I did so because I didn´t like some of the trends I was seeing in society. Speci...
Freedom is Always Preferable
I´ve noticed in life that people seem to have a tendency to believe that everyone thinks and acts as they do. If one is a thief, he will most likely believe that everyone is a thief, or at least would be if they could get away with it. Often a thief may accuse others of stealing. If one is a l...
Dissenters Under Attack Worldwide
Last year in Burma there was great unrest. Buddhist monks began to protest perceived injustices brought about by the heavy hand of too much government. Like people all over the world, these monks wanted more freedoms to run their own lives. Now, Buddhist monks are perhaps some of the most peaceful p...
Barack Obama: The Great Orator
Throughout history men have given memorable speeches. Great orators have often times been able to whip up the emotions of their populace and mobilize them to work toward one agenda or another. Their speeches come down to us through the ages and small bits are oft times quoted as pearls of wisdom. Th...
An Open Reply to Help Senator Durbin Better Understand the "Read the Bills Act"
I recently used the DownsizeDC.org website to contact my representative and the senators from Illinois and tell them I support the "Read the Bills Act" and that I want them to vote for it. Senator Dick Durbin (well, probably not him personally but his staff) actually took the time to shoot me an ema...
George W. Bush, King of the State of Denial
I´ve recently had the misfortune of hearing President Bush speak. He´s been all over the news the last few days and he´s very hard to avoid. I noticed that he does seem to have a happy demeanor about him. He does put forth in his public persona a sunny outlook on the future. It mak...
Eliot Spitzer and Human Morality
I know next to nothing about Eliot Spitzer. Until this week, I didn´t even know he was the governor of New York, nor did I care. All I know about him I found out in the last week from news releases and opinion articles about his follies with some prostitute and his subsequent capture by the mo...
Turn Off, Set Down, Log on, Engage.
Turn off the TV. Set down the newspaper. Log on to the Internet. Engage yourself with others, find alternative viewpoints, and interact with reality. Americans have a recent history of passivity. In the past we have been involved with each other. We would talk with each other on our front porches...
Media´s Deafening Silence and Ron Paul´s Candidacy
For all the reporting they´ve done on him, you´d think Ron Paul didn´t exist. He´s one of three candidates left in a Republican field that started with eleven, and yet you´d never know he was one of the last three survivors. If he was on American idol he´d be maki...
DAMM – Drivers Against Madd Mothers
I heard of a radio talk show host that came up with the idea to a form a group DAMM, Drivers Against Madd Mothers. Recently events have occurred on a very local level that gave me pause to think about this. These events are tragic in their own way, and yet it seems to me that we as a society like to...
Ron Paul; The Candidate That Understands Reality
I know a bit about fantasy. I write Fantasy novels. In them, there is a clear cut good versus evil theme. The evil is always supreme, bent on the total destruction of life and beauty, and the good is always striving to save the world and a culture of decency. Real life is quite a bit different. In t...
Fairness and Life, Collectivism and Freedom
Has anyone ever told you that life´s not fair? I remember hearing that many times when I was a child. Life isn´t fair. We can see it all around. Nature provides many examples. Life certainly doesn´t seem fair to the poor little antelope when he´s caught by a vicious lion. Yet...
An Open Letter to the Citizens of the United States of America
There are many times in every nation´s history when that nation reaches a crossroads. The decisions made at those times help to define that nation´s character for many years, perhaps decades to come. It is my humble opinion that this great nation known as the United State of America has come to such...
The Ron Paul Pandemic
Whether you like him or not, Ron Paul has become a worldwide phenomenon. His banners fly in the skies over US cities. His signs are springing up alongside our nation´s highways. Bumper stickers are appearing on cars, it seems almost spontaneously. Certain days of commemoration are set up to donate o...
Smoking Bans and Collectivism
I quit smoking on Oct. 14th, 1996. I did so cold turkey. Everyone was amazed that I was able to quit after smoking one and a half to two packs a day for fifteen years. I´ve stayed quit for over eleven years now. Since I´ve quit I´ve felt much healthier. I´ve gotten rid of a b...
New Hampshire Obviously Doesn’t Want Change, Do You?
The votes have been counted from the New Hampshire primary. McCain has been declared the winner of the Republican primary and Clinton has been declared the winner on the Democrat side. I sit in a state of disbelief. Lately in this campaign season I’ve heard much about change. I’ve heard Barak Obama ...
Ron Paul Promises Nothing
Politicians make a lot of promises to a lot of people. That’s just the nature of the beast. They pander to the lowest common denominator in order to try to get votes. The politicians in this presidential contest are no different. They make promises they may or may not be able to keep. They promise t...
Plots, Assassinations and the Devious Worlds of History and Politics
I’ve made a few observations while on this trip called life and some of them I’ve found quite curious. One of the things I’ve noticed when it comes to political assassinations is that it seems only politicians who are popular with the general public are targeted. I could go through a laundry list of...
Ron Paul and Chocolate Ice Cream
The other day I sat down to my computer with a big bowl of chocolate ice cream to catch up on the latest Ron Paul news. He had received 6.3 million dollars in contributions from over 50,000 donors in one day. This was huge news. Since that time the mainstream media has found it hard to ignore Ron Pa...
The Will to Be Free, the Strength to Live in Liberty
People are not born free. They are born into a system. These systems are called communities. These communities are usually made up of many smaller units known as families. It is within this unit where most of us are able to exercise the most control. It is within this unit where most will find the m...
The Best Christmas Gifts
I love stuff. I’ve always loved stuff. I would go as far as to say that I love more than just stuff, I love junk. I love cheap plastic junk that breaks easily and does neat stuff. I’ve loved cheap plastic junk that breaks easily and does neat stuff ever since I was a kid, before it was all made in C...
A New Direction in Blogging, an Interview With Matt Colebourne of coComment
I believe I can say with relative impunity that the Internet is not just some fad that will soon fade into history. Nor is it any longer the purview of a few geeks interested only in sharing scientific papers and findings. The Internet has become an integral part of our society. It has become a tool...
It’s Not Ron Paul, It’s the Message
When I first started writing these articles back in April 2006, I had no idea where they’d take me. I had a few things to say and when the opportunity presented itself I thought I’d go ahead and say them. I knew my writings were political in nature, but I was also trying to relate my viewpoint to re...
Acquiring and Keeping Genuine Wealth and Wisdom
My parents are elderly. They have been through a lot in their lives. They have seen a great depression, a world war, other smaller wars, an economic boom, a couple of recessions, an oil crisis, an energy crisis, etc., etc., etc. I find too often many people ignore the elderly. They feel that, for wh...
Ron Paul’s “Crazy” Supporters and Other Nonsense
It can be said that the English language is a living language. This is because as time goes on the language changes. Words come to mean different things. Sometimes the same word can mean one thing to some people and quite another to a different group. This is especially true of legalese, but I won’t...
Confiscating Liberty
On Wednesday, November 14th, 2007, agents from the FBI and Secret Service raided the offices of American Liberty Dollar in Evansville, Indiana and the mint they do business with. They confiscated all their records, their gold, silver, copper and platinum. They confiscated tons of Ron Paul liberty do...
If Dr. Seuss Wrote for Dr. Ron Paul
George was on the net one day, He thought he’d take some time and play. To youtube he decided to surf, He came upon Ron Paul’s turf. He saw a video at the mall, Where on the dais stood Ron Paul. Ron Paul spoke true and he spoke loud, Below him gathered quite a crowd. He said “I will end all ...
Ron Paul Revolution: We Have Not Yet Begun to Fight
During the War for Independence fought by the thirteen original colonies of these United States of America, a hero rose from the ranks of the populace by the name of John Paul Jones. I believe most Americans have heard of this gentleman, but without going into too much detail he was a captain in the...
Random Thoughts of a Hopelessly Human
I have to admit, I am hopelessly human. I am fallible. I’ve made my share of mistakes in my life, some small and some rather significant. We all make mistakes, it’s part of being human. Making mistakes is how we learn. The important things are that we learn how not to make the same mistake again and...
Human Interaction and the Federal Government
When humans are born, they are helpless. They are forced to depend on others for survival. Infants quickly learn who their parents are as these are the people who will feed and protect them. They may come to know an extended family, brothers and sisters, grandparents, uncles and aunts, for the same ...
Ron Paul Gets Much More Than 15 Minutes
This article refers to a blog by the editors of Foreign Policy which can be found here: http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/mboyer Mike Boyer is a blogger for Foreign Policy magazine. In a recent blog entry he asserts that Ron Paul's fifteen minutes of fame should be up. Of course, when Andy Warhol orig...
The American Revolution vs. The Ron Paul Revolution
In 1776 a little war started in this country that would eventually lead to the independence of several small British colonies on the American continent. Recently, I've had the opportunity to read up on it and I find it interesting to look back upon the writings of those who were living at that time ...
Nostradamus, Anti-Christs and the Rush to the Apocalypse
I think it's human nature to want to know the future. People wonder and worry about everything from whether or not it will rain tomorrow to what life's going to be like a hundred years from now. It's not so hard to predict something that might happen a minute from now, or an hour, or tomorrow's weat...
A War of Words: The RedState Decision to Ban Ron Paul Discussion
The RedState blog has decided to ban discussion of Ron Paul to its members that have been on for less than six months. The reasoning is that those who have accounts less than six months old that “shill” for Ron Paul must be philosophically libertarian and not philosophically republican. Now, I don’t...
The "Read the Bills Act" and Common Sense
Recently, I’ve had the chance to read Thomas Paine’s treatise entitled “Common Sense.” In it, Thomas Paine basically talks about what was happening in his times between the British colonies on the continent of North America and the country of Great Britain which was charged with protecting the colon...
It is Time For the Other Republican Presidential Candidates to Step Down and Support Ron Paul
I’ve never tried to hide the fact that I’m an Independent. Sure, I also claim to be a Libertarian, but that’s only because their ideology and mine coincide. I’ve never belonged to the Libertarian political party. I consider myself more of an Independent simply because I believe that as a voter one s...
An Open Reply to Mr. Harwood's Open Letter to Ron Paul Supporters
The letter this reply relates to can be found here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/21270546 Dear Mr. Harwood, I must say that you write a very eloquent open letter. I am so happy to see someone from the “mainstream” media finally admit that the post debate polls aren’t being hacked, that nothing illegal...

The letter this article refers to can be found here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/21257762?__source=RSS*blog*&par=RSS Sir, I read your explanation for taking down the Ron Paul poll and I must say I was taken aback. First, let me say that the opinions expressed here are my own and I speak for n...
Ron Paul - He's Not Just For Bloggers Anymore
Money talks, BS walks. How many times have you heard that phrase? I know I’ve heard it more than twice in my lifetime. It appears that this saying has proven true for the Ron Paul campaign. After raising 5.1 million dollars in the third quarter, over a million of that in the last week, the mainstrea...
Taxes, Extortion, Bullies and the Browns
It is my opinion that taxes are nothing more than extortion. The income tax is especially heinous. I see no difference between the government demanding money from me and telling me if I don’t pay a band of armed men will come into my house, kidnap me and throw me in a cell (or perhaps kill me if I r...
Ron Paul Detractors Still Don't Get It
So, I’m a Ronbot. According to certain denizens of the web lurking in their shadowy corners of the blogosphere, there are many of us Ronbots out there, but not too many. No, if there were too many if us, if we were more than say one or two percent of the population, then that would shatter the world...
Human Labeling and the Punishment of Public Perception
We do not live in a perfect society. People are not always nice to each other. They don’t always follow the golden rule. They don’t always do what’s best for the greater good. They don’t always do what’s best for their family. They don’t always do what’s best for their own selves. This is not earth ...
Why are Ron Paul Detractors so Frightened?
The other day I was driving past a very busy Intersection in my neck of the woods and I noticed a Ron Paul Revolution sign had gone up. There were a couple more on the toll way that some farmer had put up. These were put there on private property by people that most likely were not paid to do s...
The Illusive Light of Freedom
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one, I hope some day you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.” John Lennon What is freedom? This is a question mankind has asked since we stopped our wandering and strapped ourselves to the land via agriculture. Since the dawn of civiliza...
Ron Paul Detractors Need a Wake Up Call
“That’s what you get for pretending the danger’s not real. Meek and obedient , you follow the leader down well trodden corridors, into the valley of steel. What a surprise! A look of terminal shock in your eyes! Now things are really what they seem. No, this is not a bad dream.” Excerpt from th...
Ron Paul and the War on Terror
Nearly six years ago, on September 11th, 2001, a criminal act occurred in New York, New York. It was broadcast around the world. I remember that on that day I called my mother and told her to turn on the TV while I could only listen to the radio because I was at work. I remember telling her that we ...
America, A Nation of Laws
I’ve heard many a politician claim that we are a nation of laws. I thought we were supposed to be a nation of free individuals. Wasn’t this country set up to make individual freedom the most important factor in government? Didn’t the original English settlers come to this country to get away from un...
Witches and Warlocks, Terrorists and Sex Offenders
From the fifteenth century to the nineteenth century, people were accused of witchcraft, put on trial and sentenced to death if found guilty. These proceedings were often barbaric and one sided. The accused never stood a chance. Torture was used to obtain confessions. Trickery was used to obtain wit...
Can Ron Paul Cure America's Apathy?
Most citizens in the United States of America do not vote. Many never registered to vote, many others are registered but simply don’t vote. In the last federal election, fifty nine percent of the registered voters in this country showed up to vote. Of approximately two hundred and seven million regi...
Spirituality, Politics and Government
When I was in my early twenties, I had a girlfriend I was very much in love with. I spent a lot of time over at her house. One day her mother and I were in the kitchen talking when, and I don’t know how this happened, the subject of religion came up. I had been brought up a Roman Catholic and my gir...
Independence Doesn't Just Happen
July 4th is Independence Day. We celebrate every year our independence from an empirical monarchy that refused to supply proper representation for the colonists. A war was fought over taxation without representation and other improprieties taken by a tyrannical government. This war was sold to the c...
Tax Law is Bad Law
Do you remember the story of Robin Hood? He was a hero to nearly every child. Why was he a hero? Remember he stole from the rich to give to the poor? We were always taught that stealing is wrong. What would make it right to steal from a merchant who had made his fortune honestly? Nothing. Ah, but we...
Building the Prison Planet
Ok, I admit it, I love Star Trek. I was only a little kid when it first came out. I used to watch it all the time. I’ve probably seen each episode two or three times. Even though it took place in the future, often times the show’s themes were pertinent to events taking place in the present. Other ti...
Ron Paul's Candidacy and the Dream of Freedom
I have this dream. I dream that one day I will live in freedom. I dream that I will be able to choose where to spend the money I earn. I dream that I will be able to open a business without having to worry about paying the extortionists for protection. I dream that I will be able to write out my op...
Obituary for Arlo the Bunny Rabbit
Saturday, April 28th, 2007 marked the passing of Arlo. He was just three years old. My wife says he was the cutest bunny ever. I used to feed him every morning. He’d always be so excited to see me and seemed famished whenever food hit his bowl. He would sometimes come up to me and put his front feet...
Does Anyone Really Care About Global Warming
I watched a documentary the other day called “The Great Global Warming Swindle” from the BBC. The basic premise of the documentary was to show that carbon dioxide is not the main cause of global warming, that the sun’s energy output is, and it is not the threat that certain political interests would...
The Great Best Buy Gift Card Scam, Part II
A few days back I wrote an article on something that happened to me on my birthday with Best Buy and a gift card I received. I have never received so much response to an article. When I first sat down to write about my experience, it was not my intention to become a type of Don Quixote. I am now und...
The Great Best Buy Gift Card Scam
It was my birthday a couple of days ago. I’ve gotten well past the point where I make a big deal out of it. Still, it is nice that others recognize the day. It is pleasant that someone else lets you know that they are happy you were born. It’s also nice to get presents. So, it was my birthday and my...
Where is America?
I wonder how many people in this country of ours can actually answer that question by looking on a map. I know, many of you are saying America is a large country situated on the North American continent between Canada and Mexico with Alaska being a large chunk of land situated north of the rest of t...
Propaganda, Politicians, Magic and Illusion
I’ve always been interested in magic. I do know a little about it. I like to dabble in it. I’m not talking about the natural kind of magic that Wiccans and the like practice, although that type of magic does hold a certain fascination for me, but the store bought type of magic, the type of magic Har...
Mr. Branson, May I Please Have the 25 Million Dollars Anyway?
Mr. Branson, Mr. Gore, I have done it. I have figured out a way to capture carbon dioxide from the atmosphere after it has been released and convert it to oxygen! I like to call this marvelous technology, the “tree.” It is amazing! This machine is very easy to build. In fact, they reproduce themselv...

Positive Thinking and the Death of the American Dream
Lately I’ve been reading a lot about positive thinking and a thought responsive universe. I learned about the power of positive thinking way back in the seventies and have practiced it throughout my life. There are some people who swear by it, others who will tell you it’s nothing but bull hockey an...
Don't Tell Us, Hillary, Show us
Back in 2002 Valentine, my coworker and friend, and I would often have discussions about whether or not the United States should invade Iraq. Valentine was against any action in Iraq and I was on the fence. Valentine explained to me that he felt there was no reason to invade Iraq. He felt that Sadda...
What is Easy v What is Right
Sometimes we can find the most appropriate words in the least likely places. The other night I was watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Toward the end of the movie the headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, says, “There are dark times ahead. Soon we will all have to chose between what is...
The Folly of the Illinois Air Team
As many of you know, I am an environmental advocate. I’m all for clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and clean land to live on, farm and recreate upon. Recently, however, something happened to my family that made me realize just how wrong it is for the government to mandate checks of auto emi...
A Patriot's Response to Mr. Moore's Pledge
A while back, a friend of mine and I were having a political discussion. He was of the opinion that, depending on certain definitions, ten percent of us were liberal, 10 percent conservative and the rest were somewhere in between. I felt that was a fair assessment. A few days ago, I read an arti...
Now Is Not the Time to Hit the Snooze Button
I don’t like to wake up in the morning. I wake up as a progression, hitting the snooze button after the alarm goes off, rolling over and going back to sleep for a few more minutes. I do this a couple of times. It’s psychological, I suppose. It gets me ready for the day. Problem is, every once in a w...
A Proclamation Demanding Reclamation of the Rights of Man
As events unfold in this time of Man, driven by forces seen and unseen, spawned by the minds of those who would govern the masses and nourished by those who would benefit from the suffering of others, it sometimes becomes necessary to remind the few that they are given their power by the good graces...
Propaganda, Truth and the Mass Media
Tired of the propaganda yet? I know I am. Watch the news on TV. CNN, Fox, MSNBC, it doesn’t matter. They’re all broadcasting propaganda. They all have their agenda to fill. I’m tired of reading and hearing how the “liberal left” own the media. When I watch TV news, especially Fox, I see and hear not...
Dealing With Addiction
I used to smoke. In fact, I smoked quite a bit. I smoked two, sometimes three packs a day. For fifteen years I smoked. Experts might say I was addicted to cigarettes. Well, on the outside it certainly may appear that way. Even I have to admit the urge to smoke is powerful. But addicted? I don’t thin...
The Best Self Defense
I wasn’t a big kid. In fact, I was a pretty small kid. When I was in grade school, as I recall, I was the smallest kid in my class. I was also quite sickly, being afflicted with asthma. I was not very athletic or strong. As a result, I was often teased or picked on. Before I start to sound like ...
We Won the War. Time to Get Our People Home.
What’s all this talk about cut and run? We’ve won the war with Iraq. We’ve accomplished all the objectives the president laid out when he made his case for invading Iraq in the first place. First, we beat the snot out of their armed forces, at least the few of them that were willing to stick arou...
Who's Wasting Their Vote?
I’ve always enjoyed Matt Groenig’s work. I remember before "The Simpsons" were on TV he did a cartoon called “Life in Hell”. What I really like about Matt’s work is how he uses his characters to express his own viewpoints. Sometimes he is subtle, sometimes not. I remember a particular episode of ...
The State of Florida Does Not Have the Best Interests of Its Children at Heart
I live in the fine state of Illinois. Here, in the Midwest, we like to think (or at least pretend) that we are sensible people. We like to believe we use our common sense quite well, thank you. I know that everyone all over the world likes to think that, yet it seems many times in course of human ev...
More Scary Monsters
In the 1960s and early 70s we were taught that the USSR was our enemy. We were taught that their system of government was an evil system, one that was restrictive and callous of human rights. We were taught that the newspapers, TV and radio were all state controlled and so their people had no way of...
A Bit of Levity
I thought it might be fun to look at some things fathers have said through the years and see if they still apply today. Some of these I have used on my own children. Have you ever heard something similar to this? “You need how much for what? Money doesn’t grow on trees you know.” This is still...
Teach Your Children Not So Well, Part II
My youngest son has been having problems in school lately. His teacher has been calling me at work to let me know about it. It seems he hasn?t been doing his homework. This isn?t a new problem. In fact, we?ve been dealing with it all year. Now, I?ve never been a big fan of homework, especially at ...
Valentine's War Stories
It’s common knowledge among those who know me that I’m a history buff. I love history. I love studying it from as many angles and perspectives as possible. The History Channel is one of my favorite channels, right alongside the Discovery Channel and The Science Channel. But no matter how much I stud...
Where Did Our Future Go?
I don?t usually rant and rave when I write. I like to tell a story. That?s going to change a little today. Excuse me while I climb upon this soapbox. I went to high school in the mid seventies. At that time, despite a severe gas shortage and inflation threatening to go out of control, the future h...
Scary Monsters
“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Franklin D. Roosevelt When I was a child, I was a scared little boy. I mostly have my older brothers to thank for this. As I think back on those foggy memories, I recall that they used to torment me by hiding around corners and jumping out at me o...
God's Whisper, Satan's Laugh
I work with an 80 year old man named Valentine. I don’t think he has to work, I think he wants to work. He seems to like working. I think it keeps his mind sharp and active. He only comes in a few hours a week. He and I have deep conversations on politics, the supernatural, morals, society, space, s...
On Becoming Father
Years ago I had an out of body experience, sort of. Not to worry dear, concerned readers, I was no where near death or even close to getting hurt. Needless to say, I hope I still have quite a number of good years left in me. No, nothing quite so dramatic happened to me. It happened because I was y...
