Florida Train the Trainer CPR AED and First Aid Classes. There are a number of companies on the internet advertising "train the trainer" CPR first aid classes and I wanted to share my thoughts on this topic. I realize with the down economy this can be viewed as a great revenue source for the company offering the training classes to their employees. This could also be viewed as a job for unemployed individuals or a second income for the stay at home mom. But is this a good idea or a rip off. We know that the training company makes money. They also suggest that the business sending their employee trainer can save money by offering the classes in house. It sounds like a win win for everyone. That is until you realize that safety has been compromised. At first you won't realize this. In fact, you probably will not notice until an employee or customer is sick, injured or dies and you get the letter from their lawyer. You also won´t realize the upfront cost of the CPR manikins, DVDs, AED trainers and other equipment, the liability insurance and the ongoing recurring costs of the certification cards and books. Often times your cost for a single certification card with the book is over $20 per student. Often it is not until after you paid for the class that you realize you wasted your time and money.
