Instant replay official reviews failed twice to determine the correct call at the NCAA BCS National Title game between Oregon and Auburn. The Big 10 officiating crew also failed to use a replay review on a missed fumble call.
The first failed review came in the second quarter on Cliff Harris' ap...
Disgustingly, former Blazer Antonio Harvey has come out on the "Fifth Quarter" radio program on Portlandīs 95.5 FM and publicly defended an obvious fix-job by NBA refs.
"To endunkify": to assist a player such that their next move is to slam that puppy into the freaking hole with a monster jam.
BCS Bowl System Sucks and Needs To Be Eliminated
Rating: Thumbs Down (wait till '10)
In summary, this illustrates exactly why EA Sports in no way deserves to have the sole license to produce official NCAA Football games. It's just another thing about college football, like the BCS, which is a product of corruption and greed within the system. Most of the big programs that bring the NCAA all of its money are publicly-funded schools, and it's just wrong for the NCAA to do such a disservice to the fans of college football -- the taxpayers who fund the sport -- as to give an exclusive license out. I feel that until this is rectified, then the NCAA should be investigated for anti-trust by the FTC. I mean, the essential result is a monopoly within the college football video game sphere -- and since there is no competition in the this arena, therefore EA Sports is not forced to innovate its products or fix glaring deficiencies.
Why is undefeated Kansas not ranked #2 in the polls at this point? More importantly, why is Oklahoma ranked ahead of Kansas?
I mean, Oklahoma lost at Colorado, whereas Kansas won at Colorado. That alone should give Kansas an edge over OU.
But such a consideration should not even be necessary,...
It feels good to be vindicated. Vince-dicated, even. How sweet it is to say, "I told you so." Vince Young is no longer a rookie, and now people will have to take my sports columns with a higher degree of seriousness, since obviously, I know what I'm talking about.
Way back in Jan. 2006, several ...
All during the Western Conference Semifinals series between the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns, I kept hearing about how Manu Ginobili had not produced. He had had some bad games.
Look. Ginobili is a championship player. He is a clutch player. He has an Olympic Gold Metal, an Italian League C...
The continual war-cry of the chickenhawk neocons is, "Support our troops." Yet President George W. Bush is almost certain to not support our troops by vetoing the war funding bill, simply because it expresses the will of the American people: to bring our troops home from Iraq.
The justification f...
In the wake of the Virginia Tech tragedy, some pundits such as Jack Thompson have sought to blame shooter Cho Seung Hui's actions on violent computer games such as Counterstrike. However, if anything, it is the media that is to blame for his actions, because the media hypes and glorifies every mass ...
Ah, springtime: as the American sports media would have us believe, it's all about small white balls falling out of the sky, having been hit by men with various forms of sticks. Golf and baseball are in full swing, and ESPN radio commentators like Dan Patrick and Freddy Coleman cannot shut up about ...
Call them a perfect Texas thunderstorm of speed and strength, on both sides of the football. Call them a scary alignment of Big 12 track stars -- ominous for UT's gridiron foes. Or simply call them Jamaal Charles and Brian Robison.
Haven't heard of them? Many heroes went unsung at Texas last yea...
I've heard many reasons for and against the Texans picking Vince.
Some say Bush should be chosen by the Texans because it will help give Carr more time to throw, since teams will have to respect the threat of Reggie. Well, I just don't think that's the case -- much of Bush's offensive success at ...
