Iraq and Iran: The New Islamic Brotherhood
The U.S. intervention in Iraq has had the unintended consequences of uniting Iraq and Iran. Both Islamic nations are now controlled by Shiites. The U.S. administration is still living in a state of denial about what they have done in Iraq. The American public is still in the delusional state of being uninformed, misinformed and mentally fogged with a total misperception about what the war has actually produced in Iraq.
The decrease in violence in Iraq has been achieved by the Iraqi´s
The Iraqi´s are primarily responsible for the recent 2007-2008 decrease in national violence, not the small U.S. surge. The violence would have decreased even faster without the U.S. surge. In a recent Iraq survey, (ABC/BBC/ARD/NHK Poll - ABCNEWS.com) Iraqi´s who see security as having improved were asked who deserves the most credit. 26% said the National government, 18% said the Iraqi Police force, 13 % said the Iraqi Army and only 4% said the U.S.
The Origin and Extinction of Species
A visit to the nearest Natural History Museum should make it obvious to anyone that millions of species of plants and animals have existed on the Earth during the past three billion years. This is the estimated length of time that paleobiologists estimate that life has existed on our planet. The millions of existing museum fossils should also make it quite evident that the majority of these species no longer exist.
Alternating Republican and Democrat Administrations is Good for the U.S. Economy
The U.S. political and economic system functions best for our nation when the administrations alternate between Republican and Democrat policies.
Why Republican economic policies always fail
During the most recent U.S. Republican administrations, the gap between the rich and the poor people in the U.S. has steadily widened. This is almost solely do to the ill-advised choices made by Republican politicians. This is not an accident, it is a result of the fundamental design of the Republican agenda.
The Twilight of American Democracy
Since the Nixon administration, the Republican party agenda has been totally focused on creating a strong executive branch (autocracy) which has absolute power over both Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court. Nixon, Reagan and Bush II have all been Unitary Executives. All three of these presidents believed that they were above the law and that they had no legal responsibility to enforce or to obey any laws passed by the U.S. Congress.
Western Democracy vs. Islamic Democracy: Iraq politics
The U.S. western concept of democracy is not the same as the Middle Eastern Islamic concept of democracy. This misperception is causing prolonged conflicts in Iraq and other Muslim nations.
IRAQ: The calm before the Perfect Storm
During the past five years in Iraq (2003-2008), the U.S. has unwittingly created the ideal conditions for a Perfect Storm. The sectarian segregation, the military training and distribution of military equipment to both the Shiite and the Sunni Muslim militias has created a nation that is ready to explode. The Iraqi civil war is not over, as some idealistic Neocons proclaim, it hasn´t even begun.
Universal Health Care requires a NEW DEAL
In the 1930’s, the U.S. economic system faced a crisis. Prior to the 1929 Stock Market crash, unregulated corporations had been maximizing profits at the growing expense of the general public (primarily due to low wages and lack of labor laws). The rich got richer and the poor people stood in brea...
Was Einstein wrong about Special Relativity?
Many notable scientists such as the French mathematician, Henri Poincare rejected Einstein’s Theory of Relativity due to it’s lack of sound mathematical procedures, absence of clearness of vision or rigorous arguments. It has been noted that often when Einstein gave a public speech, that less tha...
Bush, Jesus and Darwin: In Defense of Good Science
During the last few decades, the U.S. has seen increasing conflicts between good science and two special interest groups. The first group is composed of the American industries that are opposed to all environmental regulations and restrictions that reduce corporate profits. The second group is com...
Bush Policies Have Brought Segregation to Iraq
Before the ‘Shock and Awe’ of March 20, 2003, Shiites and Sunnis lived in mixed neighborhoods in Baghdad and many other Iraqi cities. There were frequent conflicts and discrimination by the Baathist-Sunni dominated government of Hussein, but the majority of the population displayed reasonable toler...
Religious Fundamentalism, Religious Wars and Cockroaches
At the end of World War II, after the U.S. had dropped two nuclear bombs on civilian populations and major cities worldwide were piles of smoking ruins, an estimated 72 million people were dead and vast areas of civilized nations were uninhabitable. There was no green grass, no shady trees, no blos...
Free Health Care in Iraq
In the past, Iraq has had more accessible health care programs than the United States. This is also true of many other Islamic nations. These nations recognize that one of the basic rights of all citizens is the access to good health services and that the government has the responsibility to guara...
Iraq and Iran, Oil, Politics and Religion
In 1951 Iran had a democracy. Mohammed Mossadegh was the first democratically elected Prime Minister in Iran. Before his election, the Anglo-Iranian Oil Co., the predecessor of British Petroleum, had concessions for all of Iran’s oil industry. Only a small percent of the revenues were being retai...
Iraq is now a Shiite Islamic Theocracy, thanks to Bush
The U.S. invasion of Iraq on March 20, 2003 succeeded in achieving ‘regime change‘. This goal was clearly stated in the Republican Party platform prior to the 2000 U.S. presidential election. The American voters should have read this document more closely before electing George W. Bush president. ...
The Privatization of Iraqi Oil
In 2000, immediately after the Bush administration took office, before 9/11/01 and before the U.S. invasion of Iraq on 3/20/03, Bush and Cheney turned their primary focus to Iraq. The Republican Party’s 2000 platform called for the full implementation of the ‘Iraq Liberation Act of 1998’ and the re...
Religious Fundamentalism versus Tolerance
The definition of fundamentalism is implicit in the name. Fundamentalism refers to the underlying principles and essential theories or creeds which uniquely define any religion. Anyone who accepts on faith these basic principles and accepts them literally as absolutely unquestionable truths, is a ...
Bush’s Trillion Dollar Failed Adventure in Iraq.
Based on the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) current spending estimates for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Iraq war will probably cost a minimum of one trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000.00). If Bush is correct in predicting that the U.S. will remain in Iraq for one or more decades,...
Wrapped in a Flag and Carrying a Cross: Patriotic and Religious Values of Politicians
Politicians have to present an acceptable public image of themselves if they want to be elected to an office or sell their agenda to the nation. Politicians are salespersons and their image is just as important as anything else they do. Every salesperson in every profession, strives to make themse...
$200 Billion a Year for War: Taxpayer’s Shock and Awe
The present administration is requesting $200 billion a year for the Iraq war. Where is this money coming from and where is it going? That’s $200,000,000,000.00 per year. This is $4,000,000,000.00 each year from each state. Does any state have an extra $4 billion surplus that can be squeezed out...
Religious Wars and the Fallacies of Fundamentalism
Probably for as long as religion has existed, there have been religious wars. At least they have been constantly waged as long as written history has been in existence. The hieroglyphics of ancient Egypt are filled with records of thousands of years of battles and conquest. This is true of almost...
Globalization and the Evolution of American Capitalism
Globalization is inevitable but is it good or bad for our nation? Capitalism and free enterprise in the United States has never been static, it has always been dynamic. The fundamental characteristics of capitalism continually inspire individuals to be creative. The effects of this individual cre...
It’s Time To Abolish The U.S. Electoral College
In 2000, the Electoral College and a meddling U.S. Supreme Court gave the United States a president that many consider to be the worst in our nation’s history. In the 2000 presidential election, Bush received 50,456,002 popular votes or 47.87%. Gore received 50,999,897 popular votes or 48.38%. G...
Why Politicians are Liars
All presidents are politicians. All politicians are salespersons. All salespersons are liars. This may sound like a brazen conclusion, but in today’s world it is a reality that must be confronted and dealt with. To begin with, we are all salespersons to different degrees, in our everyday liv...
BUSH’S IMPOSSIBLE BENCHMARKS FOR IRAQ
From the beginning of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Bush has based his disastrous strategy on a number of false premises. These have resulted from his decision to surround himself with Bible carrying Christian advisors and greedy oil company executives. His continued ‘stay the course’ policy indicat...
