Oromo Refugees out cry for help amid turmoil in Egypt
it is well known; Oromo´s have been oppressed in the Horn of Africa region over the past 120 years. Oromo´s still striving to save their lives in many ways, and often escape from Ethiopia, moving abroad and eventually crossing many borders until they find a peaceful place to definitely settle. Through the aforementioned, it becomes evident we suffer in different ways in both, our homeland and in exile under the same oppressor some times.
Drought-hit Northern Kenya International appeal for timely intervention.
THEY are people on this horizon who struggle to make their voice heard, but the world is likely to hear more and more about them. If they all belonged to one nation, it would be a fair size, as big as France or Mali. Yet by definition, we don´t know to which country they belong to Kenya or Abyssinia. they are the world's growing band of stateless people starting from the far Oromia and Northern Kenya who have no citizenship rights,
Oromo people must unite- part II
In a fragmented Oromo political situation at risk of disintegration, one good way to keep the Oromo people and nation united is to draw public attention to the need to stand and fight common enemies. This kind of rallying strategy could be adopted by the Oromo political leadership to promote Oromo Unity and nation toward political stability. Historically, Oromo people would feel united if they saw common threats or common enemies at their door. They would abandon, for a while, their individual pursuits if their interests were collectively threatened. That was the special significance and value Oromo people had in there culture.
Oromo People ''MUST UNITE''.
The survival of Oromo land, the self dependence of this nation and developing toward the bright future of which our hopes and endeavor are pioneered, depend upon OROMO POLITICAL UNITY. Under Oromo political UNITY, under unified political direction there would emerge a united Oromia and Oromo people a great and powerful nation.Oromo people and politicians MUST KNOW. The forces that UNITE us are far greater than the difficulties that divide us. Our goal must be the establishment of Oromo dignity, progress, prosperity and UNITY.

Oromos: unblessed with leaders
My advice to people from this region is to change their attitude towards the kind of leaders they choose.let all members and supporters of Oromo political parties be invited to vote for electing leaders who will sacrifice for our people like John Garang and Nelson mabdela, Elderly people can be consulted but the elites should clearly take the mantle to determine potential quality leaders. We should not elect back those who failed us in the past. The region cannot afford to elect semi-educated leaders to an increasingly more professional Diplomat who can fill the name of Oromo Leader of this reign. We must not elect a leader without degree who can sacrifice for his people politically. Let us establish issue based accountability forum of mixed groups to vet and monitor the elected leaders.
Forgotten people of Northern Kenya.....optimistic?
creation of a ministry for them at least shows that the leadership appreciates the need for some speedy reversal of this unfortunate situation. If we look at it in terms of ministries then they should all go and camp there. For one a lot of Education is required to empower the locals to actively participate in the development of their own. There´s need for water technology and water harvesting for domestic and irrigation purposes, livestock management through building of abattoirs, introduction of farming of fruits, vegetables, medicinal and horticultural crops – there´s just too much. Maybe Najib Balala´s next challenge should be to have more tourists there in future if at all there are any now. And who knows the areas could produce some athletes and soccer stars if someone looked hard enough?
OIL EXPLORATION IN ISIOLO , FEARS AND FORTUNE
If petrol is discovered IN NORTHERN KENYA PART OF ISIOLO, the question the community should be asked is ; how will it affect the community? Possibly, displacement may occur. If displacements occur and bearing in mind that the isiolo community is a pastoralist community and they depend on livestock as their sole livelihood, then it means that they will loose their livestock grazing land.
