For those not in the know, Sam Yorty´s claim to fame was that he held onto the Los Angeles mayor´s office during a period of rampant Kennedyism even though his heart pined for Nixon – and, he publicly stated so in the City of Angels even while campaigning for Whittier´s original Dick.
