Science, religion and philosophy
In our modern world it seems as if natural science is completely incompatible with religion and (to a large extend) philosophy. In spite of some imaginative scientists trying to soften and modify the scientific community's view of the world as a huge machine, the general impression is that a war bet...
Balance – an Important Life Ingredient?
It seems to me that balance is a very important factor in life. Balance between the divine and the earthly. Balance between spirit, mind and body, contemplation and action, rest and activity. Balance between individual and social interests. Balance in what we eat and drink - not being fanatic and no...
Should We Bypass the Ego or Fight It With Its Own Remedies?
For many years I have been reading a lot of spiritual books, and it is clear to me that what we call the ego in spiritual terminology is causing all the suffering in ourselves and in the world around us as well. The ego is controlling our lives and it fills us with fear, worries and anxiety. The ego...
What’s the Penalty for Breaking the Law of Attraction?
Supposedly it is always working for everybody and whatever we concentrate our thoughts about will determine the outcome in our lives. Therefore there will never be any penalty to pay. However, there is a risk that we may think thoughts that will lead to an outcome that we really don’t want. But ...
Is the Law of Attraction Replacing God?
Here in the beginning of 2007 the law of attraction, which means that we attract what we concentrate our minds about, is a hot topic. The film “The Secret” has been watched by many people all over the world, and many coaches tell their clients to apply this law properly to their lives. Why is this l...

Is a Guilty Conscience Good or Bad?
Most people have a guilty conscience from time to time. Being humans we are not always able to do the right things in all circumstances. From early childhood we are told what is right and wrong from all sorts of sources like parents, family members, the school, society in general, etc. Unfortunately...
Design or Coincidence
Scientists and people in general are discussing passionately whether the universe is a result of some kind of intelligent design or if it has evolved by itself by pure coincidence without interference from any intelligent or creative power. Hard-core fundamentalists from both sides are heavily defen...
Living In a World of Duality
All our life seems to take place between some kind of opposite energies: hot-cold, right-wrong, happiness-sorrow, sweet-sour, light-darkness etc. Some times we like only one part of this duality, but not the other part. We want to be happy, but not to feel grief - we want to feel good, but not to su...
Illusion or Reality?
What is reality? Our perception is based upon interactions between our five senses and signals from the universe which are then compared to billions of earlier interactions, memories and experiences. All this includes our upbringing, education and opinions from others. Also our feelings and our atti...
Can the Power of Now Be Combined With the Power of Intention?
For thousands of years the oriental spiritual masters have taught us to live in the now, accepting and being grateful for whatever comes into our lives because everything is for our own best (when seen in perspective maybe spanning several lives). They have told us to neglect the ego and to perceive...
