Shooting in Orlando leaves 8 hurt

A gunman opened fire Friday at an Orlando, Fla., office building killing two and wounding at least six people, the Fire Department said.

Fire officials told the Orlando Sentinel bodies were found on the eighth and 12th floors of the 16-floor Legions Place.

The Sentinel said office workers had barricaded themselves inside the building as the search for the gunman continued.

"We've got everybody in one office, with the door barricaded with a chest of drawers. There are about 20 of us in here. We're scared," a woman who asked not to be identified told the newspaper.

"We're watching TV, trying to see what is going on, but we really don't know. We're scared. We're safe right now, but we're scared."

A witness told WFTV, Orlando, a former employee of the building had walked in and opened fire.

The early afternoon incident forced a lockdown at the Edgewater High School nearby and the Orlando Regional Medical Center closed its emergency room to patients to better handle the shooting victims, WESH-TV, Orlando, reported.
