The Natalee Movie, a Review
First ,the many stories of Joran were treated as if each had validity when presented. The events were shown as if actually happening. The issue of motive was glossed over just as in the real investigation. The first story of returning Natalee to the hotel left us with nothing of what could have happened to her after she was returned. The police officers false arrest left a void which investigators should have pursued but there was an almost immediate movement to search for a dead body. This coincides with the events at the time. Myself and many others asked," Why look for a body when there is no evidence Natalee was dead?". The movie depicted Beth as looking for a live Natalee but this is not born out by the events at the time. I have ample evidence and e-mails by friends of Beth that indicate she was not expecting to find Natalee alive. A possible explanation for this is covered in one of my earlier articles. The movie has her declare Natalee will not be found alive after the bogus boat "confession" by Joran. This episode was the most obvious faux pas. First ,Joran says he had an "unnamed" friend who he called in the middle of the night to meet him with a boat. With all the people living in proximity of the ocean would it not be feasible that a motor boat starting and running would be heard or seen at such an odd hour. How many friends would jump out of bed to assist someone to dump a body? Why wouldn´t Joran have simply called for help when he saw Natalee was ill? Of all the phony stories Joran told this was the most outrageous yet this is the one the movie conveys as convincing to Beth that Natalee was killed and dumped in the ocean.
The issue of motive is key to the disappearance of Natalee and it is the element that is the least focused on. Why would an attractive young girl disappear and why would anyone want to kill her? When you put the pieces together to come up with a most probable cause you have to discount the motive of rape. Why would a playboy allowed to gamble underage and one known to be popular and attractive to many girls want to rape a girl he had only known for a day or so? He had no previous sexual assault charges and no accusations. What would be a reasonable motive? Joran´s latest confession which was not covered in the movie, described selling Natalee for a fee of $10,000. Delivering her to a spot where she was taken prisoner and transported to another country for the white slave trade is probably the most likely confession because it fits all the other parameters of the case and makes the motive believable. It also implicates the Aruba authorities who have been uncooperative and conducted a diversionary investigation concentrating on finding a body on the island. The Aruba authorities had to be complicit in this caper. How else to explain the ability of Joran to gamble publicly at 17 years of age (18 is the law), the lack of cooperation, the ignoring of information, and the poor investigation techniques. This was covered superficially in the movie.
The complete story of Natalee is yet to be told. The avenue to discover the real course of events lies with the Aruba authorities. Joran was a minor player that was visible which leads to concluding by some that he was the major culprit. There is nothing to confirm he did anything more than transport Natalee to a pick up point where the people with a motive for kidnapping were waiting. Why doesn´t Joran confess to this part? Because of the danger to his life. He attempted to do exactly that and quickly recanted. Why?
Giving a pass to Aruba authorities is a big mistake. As long as they are untouched the truth cannot be revealed unless someone gets lucky. The Aruba authorities are still controlling the investigation and it is going nowhere. They know as long as Natalee is not found the full story cannot be told. Please read my past articles on Natalee for a thorough understanding of what most probably happened to Natalee and why. I am sure the Aruba authorities were glad to see the movie because it revealed nothing that could implicate them in a major way. They are content to be seen as incompetent knowing the motive cannot make sense without them somehow being involved.
The movie was much like the Greta segments that rehash some of the events without an integrated investigation of what does and what doesn´t make sense. A movie that honed in on how a corrupt government could endorse and cooperate with a white slave ring would do a great service to those being led down a primrose path leading nowhere. Such a movie named "What Really Happened to Natalee" would have a powerful impact on the investigation and may be what is necessary to wake up a slumbering public misled into believing what has no rational motive and a never ending solution.
