First Annual Resource Business Expo in Ventura a Big Success

Assemblymember Pedro Nava
I hosted my first annual business resource expo on March 24th at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel. The Expo was co-sponsored by the California Small Business Association in partnership with the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce. More than two hundred people attended the event representing every segment of the business community.

The expo focused on bringing resources to the Ventura County business community regarding how to do business with the federal, state, and local governments.

Additionally, many public and private organizations were on hand to provide information and resources to businesses and prospective entrepreneurs.

I believe it is important to work with our local business community because they are important to the economic well being of Ventura County. The small business community especially, employs and produces many jobs vital to the local economy. The state, federal and local governments look to the private sector to fulfill many important roles. There are many opportunities available to the local business community and prospective business owners.

Every year, millions of dollars in opportunities are awarded to qualified businesses in our state. However, as with anything, I realize that many businesses do not have the knowledge or the time to benefit from these opportunities. I look forward to working with my sponsors and partners for an even better expo next year. If you would like more information regarding the expo or on any other business related matter please contact my office.
