THE NATO´S TOUCH

NATO has chosen Anders Fogh Rasmussen as a new Secretary General and he will assume his post on 1st August, 2009. Mr. Fogh had previously served as the Prime Minister of Denmark from November 27, 2001 to April 5, 2009.
He has a very poor image in the Muslim world for his role in the blasphemous cartoons row of the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten in 2005. Over 1.5 billion Muslims were abused with these cartoons and it led to protests across the Muslim world, some of which escalated into violence resulting in more than 100 deaths.
Mr. Rasmussen, then Prime Minister of Denmark, had no moral courage to denounce it but in fact he defended the Cartoons in the name of freedom of expressions. He also refused to meet with the eleven ambassadors from Muslim-majority countries on 12th October 2005.
What is the point for choosing a controversial person like him for such a post? Before saying any things, I would like to tell you an old story.
Once upon a time in India, a person met with a Satan (Devil), he said to the Satan angrily, you are responsible for all the Sins and Problems in the world. Satan replied with calm, me… no I am not responsible for any things, I just touch with a finger but remaining all the things are done by you.
The man said no, you are responsible but making false excuses now. The Satan replied, ok let me show you.
They went to the nearby market in the town. A confectioner was making Jalebi (a fried sweet made from maida (finely-milled) flour, popular in Subcontinent and other parts also) in his sweet shop. Satan went near the shop, dipped his finger in the Jalebi´s Sugar-syrup and touched it on the nearby wall.
Soon on sweet syrup, flies came to take their share. The confectioner´s cat was watching this gathering of flies on the wall and she jumped on them.
At that moment, a Soldier was passing by with his dog. The dog was unable to tolerate a jumping Cat, and attacked her. When confectioner saw his cat in danger, he attacked the dog with a stick. The soldier became angry on the confectioner for beating his dog and soon they started quarreling with each other fiercely. The fight became so violent that Confectioner tried to attack the soldier with a knife, but before he could hit, soldier shot him with his gun. When other shop owners in the market saw the death of their own kind, they attacked the soldier and killed him at the spot.
Soon the news of the death of a soldier reached to Army. An Army Unit attacked the market and killed many shop-owners there. The whole town was disrupted by these deaths and a curfew had to be imposed to make things calm again.
So Satan did nothing according to him, but a touch of finger destroyed every thing.
And when NATO is fighting the so called War on Terror in Afghanistan, a predominant Muslim country, what is the message NATO wants to convey to the Muslims? Why a person has been named whose reputation is not good in the Muslim world? Was there no other person in the West to take that Role at this sensitive time & situation?
Appointment of Mr. Fogh as a next NATO´s Chief clearly shows that there is no respect for the sentiments of the Muslims in the West.
Unfortunately, a new hate seed has been planted by the West and certainly there will be backlash from the Muslim world. West will reply that we have done nothing; it´s all because of Radical Muslims who want War in the world.
