Boston Terrier, also called the Boston Bull Terrier Dog, is a compact dog easily recognized with his dark coat with crisp white markings. He is also a well-muscled dog with a short, wide muzzle, dark, large round eyes set far apart and with small, fine erect ears.
The Boston Bull Terrier has a square skull which makes its to have a broad and flat head without wrinkles and a short muzzle leading to an ample black nose. His jaw is broad and square with an even or slightly undershot bite.
His neck is slightly arched and its chest is broad with his back just long enough to square the body. He also has a deep chest and a naturally short tail. His limbs are straight and muscular.
The Boston Bull Terrier Dog is a very lively, gentle, very intelligent and well mannered dog. Due to its refined and pleasant personality, it is sometimes referred to as the "American Gentleman". Their intelligence makes sure that they learn things fast but sometimes can be a bit willful. It is most reliable and excellent with children and bonds to the whole family, and is especially good with elderly people and also very friendly with strangers. This dog breed is an excellent companion and generally gets along well with non-canine pets.
Boston Bull Terrier dogs have respiratory problems caused by their shortened muzzles, and can have breathing difficulties when stressed by exertion in hot or cold weather. They can even overheat if pushed too hard. They also wheeze and gulp air, so can develop intestinal gas. Their prominent eyes are also quite easily prone to infection or injury. However, healthy Bostons can live up to 15 years or more. They don't need lots of exercise but enjoy walks and games of fetch.
