Pakistan: failed nation is knocking the door

Joe Fleishman
Viewers have gathered in a beating ceremony. Few people are beating a girl for having an illegal relationship with a guy. The girl is about 17 years old. There is no sign of the man who was her so called partner. Three or four men holds her tightly and another one with a stick beating her viciously. You may think its sort of horror movie, but its not. This is what happened in Pakistan a couple of days ago.

This is not the first case in Pakistan. Pakistan is traditionally a country like this. But these are now happening more frequently. Near to their northern border with Afghanistan, women education is a fearsome task. Their parents are always worried about their safe return home. Militants are waiting around with their predatory eyes –they can do many unbelievable. Local police can´t do anything because either they don want to do or they are afraid to do.

It past more than half a century since it journey as an independent sovereign nation. After more than 60 years, it is now on the course of doom. From the very beginning, Pakistan is always stated them-self as a sort of unusual Muslim country. It always encouraged religious extremism.

Pakistan has always an ambition to become a supper power. In this regard they have continued their nuclear test program –ignoring world opinion and although majority of their populations are lives in extreme poverty.

Pakistan is generally a Muslim nation but there are many ethnic groups lives in different parts of the nation. These ethnic groups are always blames the government not to pay attention on them. This is where the militant group found easy entrance –as the government ignored them, these militants give them some comfort by telling them about their better future. Most of the political and military governments have an understanding that the easiest way to get popularity is using the religions. So eventually they have supported and nurtured extremist thought that they will help them holding their power for a long time. This strategy worked for a long time. But now these extremists are turned militant. It is escalating so fast that it becomes a daunting task for the government to stop them.

Now at last the Pakistan government has somewhat realized what is going on and the growing threat that are imposed by these militants. They are no longer an assisting force for the government. Rather Pakistan government is now afraid of loosing territorial integrity.

Pakistan at present is facing tremendous amount to pressure how to deal with the situation. They like to call them-selves a mighty nation –but the mighty nation has no might to fight with the militants. Countries like United Stats are offering military and other assistance. But that will be very disgraceful for the nation –so they cannot grab it and they cannot reject it as well. They are assuring the world they will do something soon –yet it has no sign. Time is passing, Pakistan is thinking what to do, but the militant have no time to waste. They have already entered every blood cell of the country. Experts are saying it is already too late but even now if the things are not taken seriously, Pakistan may embrace the similar fate of Afghanistan – a true failed nation.
