Knowing the Future: CIA, 9/11, UFOs and the Extraterrestrial Presence Part Four
"I am hoping to receive the backing of 20 leaders of commerce. ISSO is accepting 20 ten million dollar philanthropic investments ... exclusively from those with the most ability and therefore the most responsibility to support humanity in both social good and accomplishment. If I fail to raise these funds, then ISSO will probably fail."
In little over a year, and in spite of Firmage promoting his ideas in the press, over the Internet, and on national radio in interviews with paranormal talk show host Art Bell, ISSO had faded quietly from public view.
In an interview with ZDTV's "Big Thinkers," Firmage explained his view of the secrecy behind the alleged cover-up of extraterrestrial technology:
"I'll tell you the best information I have. The best information I have is that the organization that does have, shall we say, better knowledge than the public is much smaller than you might guess. It is very small. It is also quasi-private, established over a half a century ago and essentially custodians for one of the greatest secrets of all time."
By October of 1999, the world was still here, and NASA was interested in what secrets may or may not have been passed at Firmage's International Space Sciences Organization.
The Examiner reported that NASA Special Agent Keith Tate had been calling around looking for information about ISSO meetings.
In July, Firmage had announced the appointment of a NASA Ames Research Center veteran, Creon Levit, as Director of Research for ISSO Science.
Levit, who worked for NASA on "Aerospace applications of molecular nanotechnology," had previously co-authored a paper with Dr. Jack Sarfatt.
Sarfatti was quietly working behind the scenes and across the Internet on the problem of finding a new physics to explain the strange flight behavior observed in alleged UFO sightings.
Sarfatti had spent years on the Internet writing about topics connecting conscious awareness and extraterrestrial inspired technologies, such as "sentient warp drive beyond the quantum" long before Firmage arrived on the scene.
Levit had also explored the fringe edge of nanotechnology at NASA.
One topic of interest at NASA Ames was the idea of using "swarms' of nano-robots: active materials that could in principle "change shape and exert force on their environment under software control."
Swarming technology might explain the strange morphing behavior reported by some UFO witnesses.
Levit's role at ISSO, combined with numerous physicists from Russia and elsewhere, almost certainly had set off alarm bells.
Space propulsion was not the only item of interest to the ISSO.
Alternative energy, perhaps even explosively powerful alternative energy, was also under discussion.
Rumors of a "subquantum atomic bomb" concept were among the new ideas leaking from ISSO research.
And foreign scientists were involved, including J.P. Vigier, who had been the personal assistant to one of the founders of quantum theory, and a known supporter of communism. Other foreign sources ISSO investigated made claims of unusual nuclear reactions in their experiments.
Although the NASA investigation was reported in the media, less is known about CIA's interest in Firmage's efforts.
