UN aid is 'not reaching displaced people IN Central Somalia.
Humanitarian aid is failing to reach those affected by recent fighting in the Central Somalia Wabho And Elbur District. The Galgadud region now represents the worst drought, and displacement crisis in Central Somalia.
Aid groups estimate 300,000 people have displaced in the recent fighting and some of them have fled the largest district of Elbur.
The local authorities have accused UN and other international agency of ignoring the area since 1991. no UN agency or other International agencies have ever came Elbur and other surrounding district since fall of Said Barre.
The UN relief agencies such as WFP, Who, Unicef, and UNDP have only concentrated Mogadishu, southern and southwestern regions. in this region many people have are already suffering from a cholera outbreak. And many more are displaced now.
The local authority in Elbur and wabho district urged UN and other international aid agencies to do their utmost to bring aid for the displaced people in the region." There is no any obstacle to the free movement of aid and humanitarian relief workers into and throughout the region." Ahmed Abdullahi Said
The local authority has pledged to corporate and remove any hurdles to allow aid convoys to travel unhindered around the region.
