Border Crisis, President's Address May 15
The President should make a statement that Employer Sanctions laws will be strictly enforced with no political intervention and all existing laws will be enforced.
The Social Security Administration allows identity theft to perpetuate without notifying lawful citizens of the crime. The Internal Revenue Service with Tax ID numbers for illegal immigrants is equally prevented from sharing information to Immigration law enforcement agencies which should be addressed.
In an election year, placing troops on the border will not solve the problem as long as President Bush and elected officials condone and encourage illegal migration for cheap labor, potential voters.
The President of the U.S. sets the standards that either solves a problem or creates additional problems in any administration. From 2003 to the present, Arizona has been a gateway of illegal immigration, human traffickers responding to veiled Amnesty , guest worker promises. For those of us who live in the path of the invasion, home owners to ranchers, it?s a matter of day to day protection of home and property.
A recent article by Leo Banks, National Review Online, ? In our Backyard If Only McCain and Kennedy lived on ranches in southern Arizona? is a Tucson Investigative reporter?s account of my neighbors on the King?s Anvil Ranch near Three Points. This is a high intensity Smuggling corridor, 38 miles north of Sasabe. Desert Deaths, Drug Smuggling, and 1500 plus illegal aliens reported in April crossings on a working ranch, with 500 arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol is a daily reality.
As a Agent, I?ve known the family for many years. Pat King stated that ? Certainly the McCain-Kennedy bill will do nothing to change lives here. Pat likens the bill with a plan for amnesty, a guest worker program, and negligible enforcement, to swatting flies in your house with the doors and windows wide open? per Leo Banks interview. Those sentiments reflect opinions of millions of Americans including law enforcement, conservatives that will vote on issues, in November not party lines.
It?s hard to get serious regarding the war against Islamic Terrorists, military border security in Iraq when our own borders are invaded daily by unknown factors, cheap laborers answering a call to work including criminal elements of society and very serious threats to this nation. Common sense dictates that in any large group of people, hundreds, thousands or millions, there are people who enter the United States illegally each day with intent and purpose of entry unknown and are not seeking low wage jobs.
Hopefully President Bush will address this issue on May 15th. prior to making all illegal aliens in the United States on a path to U.S. Citizenship ahead of lawful Immigrants.
The laws established by Congress in 1986 were clear and concise, Immigration Reform Control Act. IRCA. No new laws are necessary in 2006 other than enforcing those same Standards of 1986 but without political intervention. Perhaps if the President of the United States could address a few issues of National Sovereignty on Monday night, and not allowing the Mexican Government to control U.S. Immigration policies, voters might be impressed. The President could also address the cocaine marijuana, heroin and synthetic drugs that cross the border through Matamoros, Reynosa and Nuevo Laredo, Gulf Cartel. Military Incursions and incursions by Madrinos, Mexican nationals who wear government-issued uniforms, carry official identification cards and are authorized to use weapons in helping smugglers move tons of drugs into the United States is also a problem on the U.S. Borders. Los Kaibles, Guatemalan and Mexican Los Zetas are armed mercenaries that also protect narcotics loads. The President of the United States has the opportunity to truly address the Illegal Immigration situation and restore lost confidence in the Southwest. among conservative and liberal voters who are against Amnesty for law breakers.
