President Obama Plays Hoops With The GOOPS
The reason I am going with this analogy is because Obama plays a mean game of strategy and believe me basketball is a game of strategies. You see he´s got the home team advantage. The stadium is filled, and over sixty percent of the fans are rooting for Obama to win. The other 40 percent, or less, want the Republicans to win, but 20 percent of them are rooting for the wild shooting of Rush the Low Ball point guard and the other 20 percent are hoping Mike the ´slamma hip hop jama" gets under the basket to slam a few winning points. In other words we have a split audience rooting for a split team.
Republicans are divided and they are worried about that. God forbid hurting Low Ball´s feelings, but God forbid Republicans follow his 650 commandments for conservatives. It´s a win-win situation for the home team. Obama is making crisp moves to the basket and his Democratic teammates are feeding him the ball at the right moments and he makes the right movements. Republicans? The game is over because he has Americans on his side.
He has had Americans on his side ever since the election, something the Republican second-stringers in Congress keep forgetting. President Obama is playing for the team of Americans and not for the Wall Street Globetrotters or the Congress Cagers. This country is not playing a game of who likes Rush and who doesn´t. It´s irrelevant. Low Ball is irrelevant to the survival of this country, but maybe he´s relevant to the twenty million that listen to his ranting and slobbery. Obama´s team, which is the majority of American voters want to see him succeed. The likes of Tom Delay, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, and Low ball do not represent the majority of this country. They represent a political party that can´t stand defeat, but have no voice. The only voice they can find is talk show host, who gets paid to agitate the base of rightwing voters.
The problem is not all Republicans are radical rights. Many are moderates; hence, a problem, which will divide the party in 2010 and 2012. They give their followers the same tired old white guys the floor of their platform with no new ideas and no fresh breath. They have to rely on a radio celebrity to jockey their ideas, who looks like he should have a bit part on the "Sopranos."
The Republicans are doomed to lose. They have no game plan, no hot shooters, and definitely no teamwork. Until they´re able to regroup they are going to have a bad season, maybe three or four season.
