As many small businesses fold, local financial firm steps in to help
People are losing their homes and jobs, and many small businesses are failing, too. These headlines are not just happening in other states, it is a reality in our own backyard.
To help local businesses thrive during this tough economic challenge, Kipp Financial Group has stepped-up as a champion.
"With every penny being counted, many small businesses and non-profit organizations have had to stop advertising," said Stephen J. Kipp, president and CEO of Kipp Financial Group in Ventura. "I believe getting your message out to customers is vital to survive during economic hard times. When a business fails, it affects not only the owners but also the employees, customers and community," Kipp said.
In the last two years, Kipp has donated 40 percent of his company´s broadcast radio schedules to non-profit organizations, allowing them to broadcast messages of their upcoming events without incurring additional costs. Starting this January, Kipp Financial Group began featuring businesses from their Circle of Excellence business list which was inaugurated last September.
"Businesses that operate with the highest standards add so much to our local community and need to survive," Kipp said. "We want to help by highlighting those businesses that have outstanding reputations and come highly recommended by our own clientele."
Referrals to local businesses providing quality goods and services are another way he helps the local economy. In 2008, his firm solicited clients to develop a list of candidates for the Circle of Excellence program. Businesses selected represent the best of the best in their category, resulting in the firm´s Circle of Excellence Program.
"Kipp Financial Group has brought additional awareness to our firm and our work in estate law and mediation;" said Terri Hilliard, Esq. "In our case the radio commercial also highlighted our work with the Senior and Family Resource Group of the Conejo in which we help senior citizens and families in transition."
Upcoming advertising programs will include the Ventura Music Festival, Rubicon Theatre, Ventura Rotary Fireworks Show and LifeChronicles, a Santa Barbara non-profit organization that produces videos of people who are terminally ill.
