Macedonians have always been Greeks.
Macedonians had always Greek names, toponyms, ways, heroes, gods, dialect and did spread Greek Language and Civilization to the World.
Macedonians named after Greek names ALL the cities they built or renamed. As if they knew that, 2500 years later, uninformed brainwashed people, namely SlavoSkopians, would argue about their Greekness.
Macedonians did write Greek texts and words with Greek letters wherever they wrote on: stones, coins, pottery, marbles, steles, …… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pella_curse_tablet
Macedonians wrote poetry in "Macedonian": http://books.google.com/books?id=zMbJZ-kdkwMC&pg=PA170&dq=Posidippus++pella&sig=dCCFolhv_PVqiRN__6MY6UrYwMo#PPA185,M1 ( I love Niconoe´s … breasts!! )
Macedonians derived new Greek words by composing two or three other Greek words according to Greek grammar rules: αιγίποψ, αργίπους, κλινότροχον, εφημερίς, …… How could anyone deny that they spoke Greek?
Macedonians defended successfully their Greekness against Ottoman occupation and Slavic excruciation since the middle of 19th c. We are still defending our Greekness against the relics of those times that is against SlavoSkopians who still are attempting to steal the name of Macedonia and slavicize both Macedonia and us Macedonians.
If some one claims that all those arguments above don´t prove Macedonians´ Greekness, let him know that if any modern white people do what Macedonians did we Greeks will call them Macedonians and allow them dominating and governing Greece.
Should I cite documents and data to support my claims above? I don´t think so. History has discovered so many arguments and proofs that, whoever argues about or denies Macedonians´ Greekness is blind or ignorant or suspicious.
But since I guess SlavoSkopian objections allow me citing some comments:
That famous "Pella curse table" is written by a simple Macedonian girl in love around 370 BC that is before the times of Alexander. So, the language of simple Macedonian people, apart educated ones, was a Greek dialect, a beautiful one.
During the times of Macedonian power, when Macedonians sought to dominate over all Greeks, some of them, especially Athenians, resisted, because they wanted that domination as well. So, they objected and insulted Macedonians brutally. I have in mind Demosthenes who btw did not deny Macedonians' Greekness: http://www.network54.com/Forum/415923/message/1122318428
That famous passage of Philotas´ trial, as it is cited by Curtius, does prove that Macedonian was a Greek dialect: http://www.network54.com/Forum/415923/message/1119736553
Macedonians made us Greeks very proud. We are still feeling really proud when reading books like this http://www.starkrealities.com/fortune.html
Yes, during ancient times, Macedonia and Greece were considered two different regions. But they were inhabited by different tribes of the same people, that is the Greeks. That´s why Strabo, the famous ancient Greek geographer, wrote at 50 AD that " Macedonia is Greek". Similarly. another region inhabited by Greeks was Ionia, that is the western coast of modern Turkey. No ancient Greek historian includes Ionia within the borders of Greece. Yet, eastern peoples ( Persians, Indians, Arabs, Turks ….) called and still are calling us Greeks as Yunan (Ionians) because of the name of that region. Persians called Macedonians as Yauna: http://www.livius.org/y/yauna/yauna.html In fact, ALL foreign peoples who met and knew Macedonians called them Greeks: Romans, Persians, Jews, Arabs, Indians, …… Let alone other Greeks.
Dear World, dear leaders of the World, Greeks cannot deal with a Macedonian name for another people. In fact, if those people did know the whole Macedonian history, they could not deal with that name for themselves, as well! Greeks cannot allow any non-Greek people monopolizing the name of Macedonia. For the same reasons Turkey cannot do that for name "Ottoman", Germany for "Bavaria", Albania for "Tosk", USA for "Texas", …….
Dear World, dear SlavoSkopians, lets respect Macedonians´ timeless and doubtless Greekness which is very well known worldwide: http://youtube.com/watch?v=LL1WEW1rnp8
