Gannon & Gannon Language School announces the time4Tots Drive

Our office opened several years ago here in Sofia, Bulgaria and from the onset we have worked with people from many cultures and varying backgrounds. Throughout this time we have met people with vastly different educational levels and discussed things that could be improved or helped. We have children ourselves in the schools and have seen trends and changes to the language programs due to the lack of fluent teaching professionals in our local school. With the economy and financial impact affecting the world today it is understandable that some of this trickles down to change some of the programs in schools.

Therefore after doing business in Bulgaria and assessing how we can give back to the community, Gannon & Gannon Language School decided to return the appreciation to the by donating time and their English language skills to the schools in the form of assisting the children learning English and other contributions. By initiating the "Time 4 Tots" drive we hope that we can help teachers and students in our community.

The idea behind Time 4 Tots is simple, being a non-profit program, parents, businesses and other professionals living and working in Bulgaria to donate just a few hours a week when possible, to the elementary schools. There are many professional teachers but there are those that would welcome assistance in different subjects whether it is in a specialized language class or even assisting with before or after school programs.

The Gannon & Gannon Language School was founded by Dennis and Petia Gannon in 2006, with the goal of providing a better understanding and a higher level of proficiency of the English language through professional teaching and training. With the rapid changes that the global community is making, the role of languages becomes increasingly important both on a national and international scale.

For Bulgaria and the other states of Eastern and Southern Europe, English language education is an important tool for integration within the larger European community. Communicative and student-centered methodology can make the educational process more effective, and enjoyable.

We believe that learning and mastering the English language is an important part of the educational system. We also strongly believe that mastering the English language doesn´t just mean reading and filling in pre-set exercises, but by being able to understand and communicate in both oral and written form.
