Run Reverse Phone Lookups Using Google's Phone Book

Greg Wilson
If you´ve ever received one of those annoying telemarketing phone calls on your landline, you know how frustrating they can be, but at least you can get away from telemarketers when you leave the house. Or can you? Nowadays more telemarketing companies have access to the cell phone numbers of private citizens than ever, allowing them to call and bother people no matter where they may happen to be. While there are laws that govern what telemarketers can and can not do, many of them are unenforceable, leaving those in the private sector to deal with the situation on their own.

It´s a frustrating situation because a phone call on your cell phone can mean costs you hadn´t anticipated as well as hassles. After all, who wants to pick up their cell phone to talk to a sales person?

One way to get rid of annoying phone calls is to find out exactly who is calling. You could ask the company when they call, but the majority of companies either won´t give you the right information or will hang up the phone. You can, however, get the upper hand by using Google´s phone book to do the searching for you. Google is known around the world as one of the best search engines there is, and their technology can allow you to do a search for the owner of a cell phone number.

There are a number of phone directories which utilize Google´s technology so that you don´t have to go searching all over the place to get the information, as Google´s phone book only holds so many phone numbers and isn´t a complete listing by any means. But through using their technology on other phone directory websites, you´ll be able to find out who owns the cell phone number that is calling you so that you can finally get them to leave you alone, no matter where you may be.
