PROPOSED MECHANISMES FOR MULTIPLE CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY (MCS)

I propose two prevalent scientific origins to explain the mechanisms of Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS).
1 - There are people on this earth that are far more vulnerable than others to the effects of toxic chemicals.
This is called genetic susceptibility. It is basically a low tolerance to toxic chemicals, perhaps 1000% less tolerance than normal populations. And those who have this genetic susceptibility are the first ones affected by the harmful effects of toxic chemicals in the environment. The more they are exposed to toxic chemicals, the lower their tolerance becomes, and the lower their tolerance level is, the most severe, and various the hypersensibilites reactions are.
2 - Many products have been recognized for quite some time as being neuro-toxic.
I believe that, what happens in people with MCS is that the neurons in the brain have been quite damaged by toxic chemicals, precisely because of the genetic susceptibility/low tolerance, discussed above, resulting in terrible hypersensitivities reactions to toxic chemicals, and the more they are exposed to toxic chemicals in the environment, in air, food, water, land, the more there is a loss of tolerance to more and more substances in the environment until it reaches a point of not being able to tolerate anything anymore in the environment, including electro-magnetic radiations, as evidenced by millions of people all over the world who also have developped electromagnetic hypersensibility as a result of global electromagnetic pollution. There could also be important, additional physiological mechanisms
It is of utmost importance that teams of leading physicians specializing in Environmental Medicine, Centers for Genetic and Neurology Research, get down to work to identify among those affected, the following points:
1 - The exact gene or genes that people with MCS have, that makes them so susceptible to chemicals in the environment, in other words, that give them such a low tolerance level, which could be, as mentioned earlier, in the 1000% range versus the normal populations.
2 - The neurons that appear to be damaged in people with MCS which would then have a significant role in the terrible hypersensitivities reactions to chemicals and other substances in the environment, experienced by all people with MCS worldwide .The brain of people with MCS has most likely been "sensitized" by chemical substances/ molecules.
3 - The variety of symptoms described by people with MCS can be explained by the following aspects:
a) - The sex of the person. It has been found that MCS is more prevalent in women than men.
b) The age of the person
c) The health of the person
d) The nutritional status of the person (deficiencies in certain vitamins, minerals, etc.)
e) Infectious and other diseases (infections greatly increase the severity of hypersensitivity reactions).
f) Traditional Allergies (MCS will be much more severe in people with tradional allergies).
g) The degree of toxicity of chemicals to which a person has been exposed to. exposed.
h) The quantity and duration of exposure to these chemicals.
i) Metabolism
k) Hereditary factors in some cases
l) Individual genetic susceptibility
It is my belief, that once the brain has been sensitized by neurons that have been damaged by toxic chemicals, this sensitivity can attack every organ, taking into consideration the various factors mentioned above.
The characteristics of MCS Worlwide.
One thing is certain, which is, that in the entire world, people with MCS, have very strong reactions to toxic chemicals, and many other substances in the environment.
Most people are able to identify and trace the process of triggering of the disease after being exposed to toxic chemicals.
Pesticides and insecticides are the first on the list. They are followed by solvents, and many more.
Like cancer, MCS has different stages (beginning, intermediate, advanced and very advanced). And the severity, the variety and quantity of symptoms will occur, therefore according to the stage of the disease.
Intolerance / reactions to food are usually a feature of MCS, with neurological problems (because of neurotoxicity), respiratory and gastric problems and a myriad of other symptoms.
Hypersensitivity symptoms become increasingly acute and numerous, due to decreasing tolerance caused by an increasing number of chemicals and other substances in the environment.
Odors in general, especially those from various perfumes and scented products, become intolerable for people with MCS, and makes them really sick.
However, while all kinds of smells produce intolerable reactions in the majority of persons with MCS, many people with MCS, who have lost their sense of smell have reactions, even to substances they cannot smell.
It is also important to note, that absorption of chemicals through the skin can also produce severe reactions in many people with MCS, and that many persons with MCS have a unusual permeable skin, to the point of actually feeling the taste in their mouth of whatever they touch.
An Environmental illness constantly expanding.
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is an environmental disease that can become very serious and very painful.
It has spread throughout the world, and its prevalence continues to grow every day more and more.
It is a global pandemic as it has never been known before, who deserves the full attention of the greatest teams of doctors, researchers and scientists to identify all the complex physiological mechanisms that are at the source of this environemental disease.
Meanwhile, it is essential that this environmental disease be recognized now, by the governments and agencies responsible for public health.
And it is also of utmost importance, that doctors, hospitals, clinics, and the public in general be notified, so that everyone can be in a position to take all the necessary precautionary measures.
