The continued threat against AMISOM Forces in Somalia is questioned.

Mahdi Haile
As the Ethiopian withdrawal from most of Somalia ended last week. many are questioning the value of the attacks waged by the Insurgency especially Alshabab its foreign fighter allies against the AU peace keepers in the Somali Capital Mogadishu.

The ARS secretary General Shikh Abdirahman Janqow warns any attacks aginst AMISOM forces. And he wonders whether it's winnable agenda.

Many Somalis point out that any attacks against peace keepers are a violation of International law. the Shabab top commanders will be sought by the International Criminal Court, ICC, in The Hague for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Our Engineer Abdirahman Sharaf of Center Fore Somali Solutions said the likelihood of Insurgency or defeating AMISOM to withdraw Somalia is slim."

The Ugandan and Burundi Army are stationed at the airport and other Military installation. Attaching them will harm civilian who are just returning from the IDP camps to their homes

Questions have been asked whether such attacks are the interest of Mogadishu million inhabitants who have suffered long time in IDP camps.

Meanwhile, support for the war against AMOSM troops is faltering in the millions who live the Somali capital.

Indeed, it seems that AMISOM should commit more troops into the Somalia.

The insurgency against AU forces is not and will not succeed, Instead of wasting the people´s life, property and resources.

As controversy around the attacks against AU troops continues, calls are increasing for a ceasefire and reassessment.

The ceasefire is the only reasonable thing to do now. This would give the Mogadishu population a chance to rebuild their homes and livelihoods.
