Could the Escalating Price Rise in Crude Oil Be the Final Straw that Breaks the Back of America??
All that could change if the prices on crude oil continues to escalate bringing with it the harsh realities that will eventually affect everything that consumers purchase.
If nothing else were to happen, ( which has ) in and of itself it could bring about the lowering of the standard of living to which we all have grown accustomed. This could place our nation eventually in third world status with all the accompanying miseries.
This may not be the straw that brakes the camels back but there will come a day when a straw will do it. There are dozens of destructive processes in our society, any one of which can destroy our way of life. As Khrushchev once predicted: "not one shot will need to be fired." Stalin, in the 1930s, was quoted as proclaiming their philosophy would triumph if they could destroy America's patriotism, families and education. Notice any currant evidences here??
Through these hard and painful realities that are now upon us, ( with the promise of more of the same coming ), we Americans will have to learn what will enable us to live and survive through some very difficult times ahead. We will be learning what is really important. We will be
learning about what is real and what has lasting values.
Love and compassion for others will in my opinion, have a revival, along with the necessity to have a strong support system, the family, with people pulling together.
The testing time that we are entering into will also be a proving time. What ever beliefs, philosophies and worldviews that we have embraced will be put to the test.
Americans will be learning and experiencing what other cultures and societies before us have had to go through as they collapsed.
Charles Colson wrote a very profound book: "How now shall we live"? He explains about worldviews and the reality truth test that will reveal to us if our view of the world will enable us to avoid the painful consequences of our beliefs and actions:
"Every worldview is a proposed map of reality, a guide to navigating in the world. One effective test of any truth claim, therefore, is to ask whether we can live by it. If you follow a map but still find yourself splashing into rivers or crashing off cliffs, you can be quite sure something is wrong with the map. By the same token, if you live according to a certain worldview but keep bumping up against reality in painful ways, you can be sure something is wrong with the worldview. It fails to reflect reality accurately"...
"No worldview is merely a theoretical philosophy. It is intensely practical, affecting the way we live our lives, day in and day out, as well as the way we influence the world around us. If we adopt a false worldview, we will inevitably find ourselves going against the grain of the universe, leading to consequences we cannot live with - as millions of American's are discovering. If, however, we order our lives in accord with reality, we will not only find meaning and purpose but also discover that our lives are healthier and more fulfilled. Christianity is an accurate road
map of reality, and we must be ready to make the case to those who are growing increasingly aware of the futility of all other worldviews"...
"Our major task then in life is to discover what is true and to live in step with that truth...Every worldview can be analyzed by the way it answers three basic questions: where did we come from, and who are we ( creation )? What has gone wrong with the world ( fall )? And what can we do to fix it ( redemption )? These three questions form the grid that we can use to break down the inner logic of every belief system or philosophy that we encounter, from the text books in our classrooms to the unspoken philosophy that shapes the message we hear on Oprah.
The basis for the Christians worldview of course, is God's revelation in scripture.
Genuine Christianity is more than a relationship with Jesus, as expressed in personal piety, church attendance, Bible study, and works of charity. It is more than discipleship, more than believing a system of doctrines about God. Genuine Christianity is a way of seeing and comprehending all reality. It is a worldview"...
Americans could in the near future, be calling upon their god's to deliver them and to help them through their coming tribulations. They will, when desperate enough, find the only true and loving God. He will have compassion on us and be able to bring us through our dilemma's even though He may not take away the cause of our troubles, if we will turn away from our false god's and turn to the only true God, Jesus Christ.
Christians have been trying to tell and warn modern day America for many, many decades that there is a day of reckoning coming. Is this the time for it, you decide?
Think about this, when we are upset, the first words we usually say is: "oh God" or Christ, or else we curse His name, why is that? People instinctively know without even realizing or thinking about it, that there is only one true God who made the heavens and the earth. The word "Christ" means "anointed One." We all know there is a God whether consciously or unconsciously if we were honest about it, His name is Jesus the Christ, the anointed One of God.
Can America continue to live out a morally destructive worldview without expecting the inherent consequences of that bankrupt worldview, you decide?
Will playing with fire eventually get you burnt?
Is the escalating price of crude oil the spiritual consequences of America playing the harlot, what do you think, and what are your conclusions?
Please think on with caution, ideas do have consequences!
