Intelligent Design Trumps Old School January 20th 2009
How many times in the past have you heard, itīs not personal, itīs business? Those words are suspect with destructive behaviors that have filled our air and oceans with pollution, home forecloses, investment fraud and inflated markets that are crashing. This adversity continues with a domino effect throughout our society thatīs taking our country down to itīs knees. Did it have to get this bad before it gets better?
Together itīs up to us to make the necessary changes with no more excuses for a sustainable future that leaves double standards and hypocrisy in the dust. If we continue to supply arms and weapons of destruction, we breed more violence and hate. The long-term derogatory effects that war has on veterans who become mentally challenged, families torn apart with the loss of their sons and daughters, let alone the total devastation. I know Iīll never forget the families destroyed and the ache in my heart from 911, but as a country do we believe war is a viable option for settling conflicts in the 21st century or are we learning thatīs not the right solution moving forward?
We canīt change how other cultures deal with their religious traditions but we should respect them and set a better example in our own country that domestic, child and gang violence is not acceptable by showing and teaching respect for all living beings. Weīre intelligent people that have become sidetracked from our own truth when our government is distracted by special interests that alienate our best interests. As we take responsibility for our actions, we want to make decisions personal and be accountable for the choices our country makes in the name of the American people.
On Jan 20th, will you be standing tall as part of this new and improved version of what our country can be, helping to make choices with more compassion for human life? Our time on the planet is right now. You and I have the opportunity to ensure our childrenīs future by developing sustainable industries and lifestyles, healthy and safe products, better equipped schools and educators, preventive healthcare, wind, solar and fuel-efficient transportation that doesnīt bleed our resources but empowers our humanity along with our countryīs future.
