Our House Switched from Plastic to Stainless Steel

Tara Paterson
I just recently had my 4th child and early on in my pregnancy I came across an ad in the Washington Post about the potential hazards of plastic baby bottles. I quickly cut out the ad and made a note to use bottles free of the chemicals studies have concluded leach into our water (or beverage, in this case formula) via plastic water bottles.

As luck would have it, a few months after reading the ad in the Post I was hired to blog for Cynergreen, a company who manufactures stainless steel water bottles. At first I was interested in the company, because I knew they stood for green practices and I have been passionate about holisitic habits for my family for many years. Little did I know the vast impact plastic water bottles have on our health as well as the environment.

I quickly learned about the affects of plastic water bottles, plastic bags and even using plastic containers for food storage and how they harm the environment and impact our health. As a part of Cynergreen, I was sent a box with several of the company´s products to test out for myself. I can honestly say I am more than pleased with what the company has to offer.

In my box I received a canvas bag, several stainless steel water bottles for both adults and children, a stainless steel sippy cup, and believe it or not a stainless steel baby bottle. I quickly switched our family over to the use of the water bottles and was pleasantly surprised at the transformation I have witnessed. My kids like their bottles so much, they choose water over most any other beverage in the house. Now that´s what I consider a positive impact on their health!

I have also taken great measures to be more conscious about using glass instead of plastic, recycling, and I am working on remembering to bring my canvas bag to the store with me. I am happy I have become part of a company with such passion and conviction for educating people about healthier, safer choices both for the individual as well as the world at large!
