How Telemarketers Make Their Money
Telemarketers make their money in a number of different ways. To begin with, they often make money simply by making phone calls. Some companies pay per call that is completed. If, for instance, they are able to make three complete phone calls a day, meaning that the person on the other end of the phone actually listens to the telemarketer the entire conversation, they get a specific amount of money. If they are unable to make complete calls, they don´t make any money.
Other telemarketers make money by selling things. Even though most of us hang up on telemarketers, there are still a majority of people who actually listen to the telemarketers and who reply to them when they call. They, quite often, will actually buy what the telemarketer is selling, thereby making the company money, and that´s why they continue to call home after home.
Another way telemarketing agencies make money is to sell your information. They will call your number, discover that someone lives there, and may learn more, including how many adults and how many children live there, and then will sell the information to other telemarketers. If you want to get rid of telemarketers, try reverse phone lookups. These let you know who is calling you so that you can stop the calls from occurring. Of course, if you´re truly interested in how telemarketers make money, you could always call them back and ask for a job!
