New Year´s Goals—The Do´s, Don´t´s and "Why" from a Psychic Intuitive View
During the past few weeks, different methods for doing this have come to my attention.
First was a book by Matthew Kelly, "Dream Manager," that states that we are our dreams, but if we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of survival, we can stop dreaming, and with that, we lose the passion and energy that fuels life.
Kelly suggests that we clearly focus on what we do want because the mind understands images and action words and that we picture our goals as already accomplished, feeling the joy that meeting the goal brings. Instead of time-dated goals that seem to have hard edges on them, such as "What do I want," When do I want it by," and "What will I do to get it," we need to use a softer view to not put dates on specific expected outcomes, what to do in case a desired goal hasn´t been reached and how to reset goals once they have been attained. Perhaps most important is that our goal have a big emotional "why" attached to it.
The second method of goal setting was something I watched on public television by someone who called himself not a motivational speaker, but an irritational speaker! His credo on goals can be summed up in the simple words, "Take action," and he preached this like an on-fire minister.
The third method that came my way was from a woman of Spirit who said not to do anything unless the grace of God was indicating the way.
I watched this input swirl within me like watching my trusty food processor mix my home made hummus!
The delicious realization that I settled upon for my personal truth is this:
My relationship with God/my Higher Self is the one I need to look to for the truth. This relationship is not based in desire. In my whole life, it has never failed me. I have been given jobs, tasks and life work to do that are specific to me. I can trust that as I open to that and eliminate resistance to doing the work, that everything is made clear to me as I need it. I can know some things far in advance, and other things occur as mini surprises throughout my day. When my attitude is humble and high minded, I hold the vision for myself and others, remaining steady beyond desire.
So what might my goals look like now? Well, I have a current list with specific tasks, and I have a clear overall idea of what my intentions are for the coming year. Mostly, I have in mind an old adage to propel me throughout my days: "Attitude is Everything."
