Dining in Orlando On A Festive Vacation For Families, By USATM Journalist, Nick Worley
We began are visit at Downtown Disney where we found plenty of fun activities for the kids to enjoy. We found entertainment and a wide variety of stores, including a Lego shop that kept us browsing for hours. When it came time to eat, there was more than enough restaurant to choose from at Downtown Disney Marketplace.
T-REX at Downtown Disney Marketplace
One of the newest dining additions is T-REX. This one-of-a-kind restaurant has Dinosaur´s around every corner. There are several beautiful aquariums with a bright and colorful selection of fish of all sizes as well. Every few minutes there´s a meteor show as well when all the Dinosaurs really come to life. For our youngest this was somewhat frightening. T-REX has a wide variety on its menu so there are savory selections for everyone. The prices are average for the area. We planned to make it our one special evening out and made reservations early since it is a popular place.
The Downtown Disney Marketplace is also where you'll find Pleasure Island, filled with night clubs, more shopping and restaurants, Cirque du Solei, and Disney Quest, a huge indoor entertainment complex. For one price you can play interactive games, old favorites like Pac-Man, and much more.
With Disney´s new ticket options and vacation packages there are plenty of ways to create a magical getaway for your family. And next year, everyone get´s into their favorite theme park for FREE on their Birthday during Disney´s Celebrations Vacations!

Arabian Nights
Orlando has more dining options that include festive fun entertainment as well. Among our favorites were the Arabian Nights that features Princess Scheherazade, who is joined by two powerful genies for the celebration of her 18th birthday in the magnificent Palace of Horses.
The kids were amazed by the magnificent horses and their riders! This is one of the amazing shows you´ll find in Orlando where romance, excitement and magic abound, as Scheherazade searches for Prince Khalid, the prince of her dreams, while avoiding the clutches of the evil Prince Vaneer. New menu items include New York Strip Steak and a new Pasta Bowl with Chicken and Sautéed Vegetables.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament
Then there is the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. This is the great thing about visiting Orlando. One night you can dine in Arabia and the next enjoy a festive feast in a European-style castle! Dinner at Medieval Times is an event unto itself. Serfs and wenches dressed in period costumes served our feast that includes creamy tomato bisque, roasted chicken, spare rib, herb basted potato, a pastry and drinks.
Of course, the kids enjoyable the fact that we ate our meals without any silverware; it was a bit messy, but fun for all. During the feast the knights take center stage and perform daring feats on beautiful horses. It was a exciting night as everyone cheered for their favorite knight!

The Outta Control Dinner Show at WonderWorks
As an extra treat for the kids we made reservations for the Outta Control Dinner Show at WonderWorks - Central Florida´s only upside down attraction. Wonderworks is an amusement park for the mind that has over 100 interactive exhibits. And, believe me, once you get the kids in they won´t want to leave! I admit we didn´t either because we were having so much fun with them as well. Once we arrived at the Outta Control Dinner Show we laughed ourselves silly. This is a unique dinner experience that is funny and very entertaining for the whole family!
