Republican Hooverites

Implications, perhaps accusations, are being thrown out all over the place especially in our media. Is the line once again drawn in the sand between North and South? I´m not talking Civil War Part Deuce here, but they´re definitely is a dichotomy between the interests of the Southern Senators and the Northern group. The South rose again on Friday to derail the bailout of the Big Three Auto Makers.

Seems to me that the Hoover-Three that Rachael Maddow so aptly named in her editorial on MSNBC is a good fit. These Southern Republicans, each coming from a state with foreign auto interests foremost on their minds and killing the unions secondarily on their minds, would rather see three million auto workers lose their jobs than to give a gap loan until a more stable arrangement can be made for GM, Chrysler, and Ford. They would rather see our country fall into the depths of a depression than give an inch. Could they be just a little angry that the Democrats won the election? Could they be a little threatened that our country is moving towards the center and not their radical right? You tell me.

Lo and Behold, who might bail these auto dealers out? Believe it or not, the Whitehouse just might come to the rescue with TARP money. Can you believe it? The President´s own party forsakes his concern and double-talk their way to a nice Christmas vacation while the rest of the nation stews in foreclosures, rising costs, lay-offs, and jobless benefits about to run out. The south rises again.

None of these guys have been laid off from a job. None of these guys worry about where their next meal is coming from. None of these guys insisted that the Wall Street bailout be overseen with regulatory committee. Makes wonder if any of these Hoover boys have their heads sitting straight on their heads. I would say that all of them need a cranal-anal-ectomy. Figure that one out.

Almost two million jobs have been lost with the promise of thousands of others to be gone this month and the coming months. Could someone just place me in a state of suspended animation until Barrack is sworn into office?

Get this; rooms are being rented for the inauguration upwards to $99,000 for three days visit. Some better prices? How about $50,000 for one night? You don´t believe there is a disparity in this country between rich and poor? Shame on you. If my wife and I still have electricity, we´re going to pop some popcorn, drink some generic soda, and watch it on television. That is, if we still have a home.

Hoover saw no need to stimulate the economy and looked what happened. FDR was given a basket of worms. Now the boys seem to want to give President-Elect a basket of worms. Remember the Hoover boys can leave office the same way they came in. We the people still have a voice and the Republicans should attempt to remember that, but apparently their memories are somewhat impaired at the moment.
