A New Directory of Useful Information

Greg Wilson
If you have only been depending on the traditional telephone directory to assist you in your attempt to find information on phone consumers, you should know that it´s not the only database that can assist you. There are new directories online that can provide you with excellent assistance.

These new databases are, of course, telephone related, but instead of only providing you with info for one city or region of landline phone consumers, which is likely typical of the hardcopy directory you own, you can actually find out data on telephone users across the nation, including cellular phone subscribers.

The new type of information bank also enables a phone consumer to lookup a person through their ten digit phone number, a service known as a reverse telephone trace. This is great news for anyone who has a number they don´t recognize and wants to find out the owner´s identity. It´s also a convenient way to lookup someone´s address. All that is required to conduct this type of investigation is to type the area code and seven digit number into the searching box on the site that has the directory and begin your search.

A backward phone trace will work for both landlines and cellphone numbers. However, if you would like to find out someone´s number by looking up their name, a search method commonly called a forward look up, this only works on listed wireline phones. In other words, you cannot hunt down someone´s cell number by searching for their name in a wireless directory. A mobile subscriber´s number is private, and no one is permitted to release this data via a database.

On the other hand, using a cellular number as your search tool is an entirely different matter. Since you already have the detail that is considered private, finding out who owns the number and other details related to the digits becomes a matter of protecting your own rights and privacy as a telephone consumer.

What type of information can the new directory provide you with? Although the information you find may vary, in most cases what can be found with a cell phone directory includes the owner´s name, their billing address, line type, and the name of their wireless provider. On occasion, and depending on the site, you may also be provided with additional details and a full phone report.
