THE MOROS all over the Philippines, especially in war torn Mindanao, clamoring for the pullout of military forces in the Muslim-dominated areas, treacherously declare that it's a big risk for the Philippine government to continue to deploy these forces in their midst. "In case of legal persistence," they say, "the Bangsamoro will make the ultimate move."
Yet, it would be hilarious for anyone not to be aware that the moros are so far the only radicals in the world who still refuse to accept the fact that they can be easily controlled. On the contrary, the Philippine government will make the ultimate move.
If there's any moro-neutralizing act in Philippine history that the emotional respondent public thinks is an all-time relevance, it's the series of moro slaughters and conflagrations from Ca. 1916 up to this press time. "You haven't heard of 'Nam as they cry in agony and in death," said a century-old beat respondent.
A university beat respondent said that "the moros truly deserve the occasional tragic aftermaths, for attempting to impose illegal authority, and wanting to usurp the entirety of Mindanao."
Said an Alliance Evangelical pastor in the city: "Given that the foreign colonizers in the Philippines had ambitiously took ownership of certain lands and natural resources, there were many other countries in the world that encountered the same thing. The moros must come to realize that it's simply a matter of claiming for their few lost lands, but not the whole region."
Ridiculously, the call for the recovery of "Ancestral Rights" has turned into a prospective convenience for a subtle form of invasion, strengthened by the issue of "Holy Peace and Liberation", if not "Holy War".
The sad result is the petty and nonessential negotiations in the face of never-ending stories of terrorist exploitations of human rights.
In the mean time, the fugitive rebel leaders are still alive, happy, and enjoying the blood money in glitteratic havens.
Just within the most familiar places in regional towns, these AQ and JI-linked criminals are the cause of over suspicion among police and military authorities, hence the killing of rebel commander-look-alikes and other innocent civilians, and the time-consuming red alert checkups at traffic points.
Invisibly out and about, they are also the cause of the deaths of media men and other opinion leaders, as well as the continuation of abductions-for-ransom, car-nappings and varied forms of extortions.
Without [or within] the protective favors of government authorities, these terror thugs are also the core of the assassinations of government officials, in the guise of "religious principle run amuck".
Recently, a notorious motorcycle-riding, drug-crazed moro rebel fraternity in Zamboanga City had been stalking in the wee hours of the night, sowing their thrill killing acts, with the use of baseball bats and initiation paddles.
No one had ever known of the damages that this terror fraternity had collectively done. No one---not even the police and military authorities.
While all the blue-blooded culprits are all about town sowing terrorism or enjoying the loot, the aforementioned uprisings continue to be a traumatic experience among the townsmen.
