I'M THE DECIDER!

Earl J. Prignitz
On Tuesday, April 18th, 2006, President Bush once again came out and declared Donald Rumsfeld will stay on as Secretary of Defense. He did so in the eloquent style that he is accustomed to.

I say, I listen to all voices, but mine is the final decision. And Don Rumsfeld is doing a fine job. He's not only transforming the military, he's fighting a war on terror. He's helping us fight a war on terror. I have strong confidence in Donald Rumsfeld. I hear the voices, and I read the front page, and I know the speculation. But I'm the decider, and I decide what is best. And what's best is for Don Rumsfeld to remain as the secretary of defense.

Fellow citizens, that is your President speaking! He listens to all voices. Does he ever heed any of those voices? He even reads the front pages - imagine that! Do you suppose that he ever reads anything more than the front page? My guess is that he only reads the headlines at that! But after all George W. Bush is the "decider". He decides "what is best". And he says that what is best is for Donald Rumsfeld to remain as the Secretary of Defense.

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please re-read that second paragraph above. How can you put your trust in a man as president of our country with that level of intelligence? That's all I can say!
