NordicTrack Discounts Treadmills For Black Friday

Fred Waters

In an aggressive move to motivate sales in a down economy, NordicTrack is dropping the prices on several of their most popular treadmills. In the treadmill industry there are bargains, and there are exceptional bargains.

Of course, like the car industry, you will find just about every treadmill on sale. It is a standard marketing procedure. In fact, some manufacturers will claim sales that are a 50% reduction, but in actuality, it is their standard asking price.

That is the case with NordicTrack. Their listed sales prices are always marked down 20%-40%. However, every so often they pick a model or two and blow the price away to stimulate sales. Being one of the busiest times of the year for fitness equipment sales, and being a very sluggish economy, they are offering serious discounts on three models.

NordicTrack A2350
$699 ($100 Savings)
NordicTrack ViewPoint 3500 w/TV
$999 ($200 Savings)
NordicTrack Elite 7500 w/TV
$1,499 ($500 Savings)

In particular, the NordicTrack 7500 is an excellent deal. For $1,499, with shipping you get:

  • 7” Built-in Flat Screen TV – Watching your favorite program or video can be a great distraction from the monotony of running in place.
  • 3.5 Continuous Duty HP Motor - This is an above average size motor for a treadmill, and can handle serious athletes and multiple users.
  • 20″ x 60″ Treadbelt – This extra long belt is ideal for tall users and for running sprints and doing interval training.
  • Adjustable Cushioning Deck – You can set the cushioning to your personal comfort level. This allows you to set the ideal cushioning for your impact, while having a solid lift-off.
  • Sound System with iPod Port – This sound system may not impress audiophiles, but the sound is reasonably good. The advantage is having speakers pointing directly at you, and not having to use headphones when you exercise.
  • 35 Workout Programs – This may be the most generous selection of installed workout programs on any treadmill. Having a variety of exercise challenges is another great way to break up the monotony of running in place.
  • iFit Technology – iFit technology is a selection of cards that you can insert into the treadmill. The programs control the speed and incline of the treadmill. You also get audio coaching to further motivate you. There are a series of cards that focus on different fitness goals like Weight Loss, Performance, Body Sculpting and Wellness. The programs are created and designed by professional fitness trainers.

When you consider all of the above features and the price, this translates into one of the better values in the treadmill industry.

NordicTrack is part of Icon Fitness, the largest fitness equipment company in the world. In fact, they are #1 by a large margin. Because of the economy of scale, they can offer some excellent value. It is just a matter of knowing which models are currently offering the best value.

The models listed above are some of the better values your are going to find. I am told the prices will extend until Monday, December 1, 2008.
