Maximize Your Results With Personal Goal Setting
Let's take a look at four critical lessons I have learned about personal goal setting that may help your home business.
1. As a starter, we will look at how you should set goals that are meaningful to you, and how that is of crucial importance. When you are at work you may have a boss telling you what to do on a daily basis.
In essence this person is setting your goals for you for those eight hours a day. Really, you are working to hit clear goals, but unfortunately they are his goals, and not yours.
In your home business you get to set meaningful goals that will drive you to be successful. An example of a meaningful goal might be to quit your job and work for yourself full time at home.
2. Write your goals down and read them every day. Look at your written goals at frequent intervals during the day, and then review them last thing before you go to sleep. This lets your subconscious mind go to work, and help you understand what is necessary to achieve the goals that you are reading.
3. Personal goal setting has to include short term, intermediate and long term goals for you to achieve success in your home business. An effective goal in the short term could be to earn another $300 each month.
An intermediate goal might be to pay your house payment with your home business checks. A great goal for the long term could be to become financially independent and no longer have to work for a living.
4. To attain lasting success, you should plan to set personal goals in multiple areas of your life. These areas might include spiritual, business, family, physical fitness, and having fun.
It is amazing how much more successful a person is in their business life if they include a balance in some of these other areas. It is important that you take the time to write some personal goals down and read them in these areas too.
Again we cannot stress enough the importance of reading your goals. The only way that you can stay focused on achieving the goals that you set is to constantly understand what they are, and work towards hitting him. Reading them every day will help you do that.
In summary these are four critical lessons I have learned about personal goal setting. Hopefully these will help you become more successful in setting goals of your own.
