Monocast Pile Driver Pads
Pile driver pads are used to avert the damage to the pile and hammer. Fillers are made of various components stated above along with hardwood. The best example of the filler used in a pile driver is azobe. But there is a very common disadvantage of azobe which is its energy loss which can be up to 40%. Moreover, the useful lifetime of azobe is also very short and hence it needs to be replaced from time to time. Also, the azobe filler is very difficult to remove from the pile which makes it inconvenient for the user to change it from time to time. Azobe contains vitreous fibers as a component of filler which adds to the 70% percent of its weight. Mostly vitreous fibers are glass fibers along with natural rubber.
A Monocast pile driver has a longer useful lifetime than the azobe pile driver or fillers. They are also easy to replace unlike the azobe fillers which are very heavy that makes them very difficult to replace. Monocast pile hammers are very versatile and are of several kinds like diesel hammer, steam hammer, vibro piling and prefab-piling. Monocast pads have the perfect elasticity which can withstand a blow without damaging the pile or the pile hammer. The coefficient of restitution of these hammers is 0.904 which is very unique as compared to any other pile drive pads. This means that a very less amount of energy is lost unlike the azobe pile drivers. Hence piles can be driven faster as compared to azobe pile drivers and that too with a greater force.
