You know that when you need phone number information for a landline, you can open your phonebook and find what you need. Because you are so use to this being the case, you may not like the idea of having to pay to get the same information today. If you know where to look, there are plenty of ways that you can still find this for free without having to pay for your 411 calls. Some are conventional, and some are not.
The rules for finding landline numbers are still the same, you just have more ways to get them. These should still be free. First, you can use the directory you have in your home. You can also find a national version of those white pages through the Internet. You can also use the free number 555-1212 from your home phone in most areas. All are free and pretty self explanatory.
You may find the need to look up a cell phone number for someone you are wanting to reach. The problem with this is that there are no forward directories for this, as they have been planned but then shot down in recent years. This is due to privacy reasons and the fact that many mobile customers still pay for some individual minutes. You have to get creative if you want to find these numbers.
The Internet is a great source of just about any type of information that you want to find. You can also see if you can find cell numbers through your connection to the Internet. You can search for someone by name to see if that number comes up in search engine results. See if you can find that person on professional networks. People are more likely to list mobile numbers there than anywhere else. Some people also list numbers on FaceBook as well.
