If You Think Vitamins Are Natural…Try Growing A Vitamin C Plant

Dr. Paul Lanthois
Have you tried to grow a vitamin C plant? You can´t, can you? That is because vitamin C and other vitamin preparations are not natural.

In reply, Jason one of the billions of vitamin pill-poppers in the Western world said, "But you get vitamin C from an orange or a kiwi fruit and they are natural."

But when you eat an orange or a kiwi fruit you get vitamin C plus hundreds of others vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes and fiber in a precise balance according to nature. It is this team of different chemicals that create the health benefits from eating fruits and vegetables. The vitamin C you commonly get in supplements is often derived from battery acid and corn syrup. Not exactly natural!

Even when you hear advertisements for various vitamin formulations they start of by saying, "Research shows that a diet of foods rich in vitamin C helps improve your immunity and fight off infection." (This is true) But then they go on to say, "So take a vitamin supplement that is high in vitamin C." The research does not show that taking their vitamin supplement improves your immunity and fight off infection. They just infer it with their advertising.

Some of you may ask, "What if you have a blood test that shows that you are low in a particular vitamin?"

It means that you aren´t eating enough of the foods containing the particular vitamin. It doesn´t mean that you need to go on a vitamin supplement.

So why do so many people take vitamins?

The most common answers I get are:

"Because I am under stress."

"Because I am run down and my immunity is low."

"Because I am not eating right."

Let me say right now that after 18 years I am yet to find any reliable studies that demonstrate that taking isolated vitamin supplements helps you cope better with stress or helps boost your immunity or makes up for not eating right.

When most of us say, "We are not eating right." It generally means that we are so caught up in life that we are not eating enough fruits and vegetables. If you think that taking a multivitamin supplement with 25 different vitamins in it will make up for not eating fruits and vegetables, you must think that a hubcap, a steering wheel and a seat belt will work as well as a car. A multivitamin with 25 vitamins in an artificial combination can´t hold a candle to fruits and vegetables that contain 12 455 different nutrients in a combination specified by nature.

But what do you do if you simply can´t eat enough fruit and vegetable for whatever reason?

Try to eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can and rather than supplementing your lack of fruits and vegetables with a multivitamin, doesn´t it make better sense to use a fruit and vegetable supplement if you aren´t eating enough fruits and vegetables?

Juice Plus is a fruit and vegetable supplement derived from 17 vine-ripened, herbicide and pesticide-free fruits, vegetables and grains in a vegetarian capsule.

Juice Plus has been tested in different Universities around the world and has been proven to help combat oxidative stress and improve your immunity. While Juice Plus may not be as good as fresh fruits and vegetables, it is definitely the next best thing to fresh fruits and vegetables and a lot more convenient.
