Mormons, Catholics, and Proposition 8: The Great Abomination
It makes one wonder just how many homophobics embody this great and abominable church. Young boys wonder through the streets of our cities, clean cut and riding bicycles proselytizing the poor and vulnerable. Are some of them gay? Yes. There have been missionaries removed from their God-given tasks because they have sinned by either being found to be homosexual or found masturbating, or fooling around with their neighbors´ daughters. Casting stones?
The Mormon Church defied the laws of the land by taking on more than one wife and didn´t quit the practice until their president/prophet at the time was told to quit that nasty stuff (and of course great pressure from the Federal Government). Coincidence? I think not. There have been leaders in the church admit (off the record of course) that the Church would still be practicing polygamy if they could…after all, it was God´s plan.
So why did they donate so much money in promoting Proposition 8? They have lots of dough and if they nip the idea of gay marriage in the bud now, they won´t have to deal with it sometime down the line when the government pressures them and they have to get another "revelation." Being gay is a sin and believe it or not, Mormon parents do give birth to children that are gay or lesbian. It´s a black eye and they´re not sure what to do with it.
The same holds for the Catholic Church, which doesn´t recognize gays in their church even though it is quite all right to molest choirboys. To say that there are gay priests in the Catholic Church would be an understatement…but Gay marriage? Whoa baby, God wouldn´t want that to occur. Abusing children and ruining their lives is one thing, but recognizing two people of the same sex being in love and wanting to be married, no thanks.
It is really quite paradoxical. According to the Christian religion as a whole, Jesus loved and accepted all people no matter their affiliations or preferences. Religion is the culprit and will continue to be the culprit in our culture. They will continue to attempt to impose their will in government and defying the ideology of separation of Church and State.
