Mel Gibson’s Stalker Sentenced To 3 Years

Zack Sinclair, 35, described as an Idaho drifter, was convicted of stalking actor Mel Gibson, 49, Wednesday. Sinclair who accosted the actor after the release of Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” will serve 3 years in prison.

The drifter was arrested in September 2004 and convicted in a Los Angeles court in March of the felony count of stalking.

Sinclair went to Mel Gibson’s Malibu estate repeatedly asking to pray with the star. He was able to evade the neighborhood security in his attempts.


In court Sinclair acted as his own attorney and declined to speak during the sentencing hearing in Superior Court. Mel Gibson was not in attendance and had no comment, according to his spokesman.

Sinclair will begin serving his sentence immediately
