The Do Not Call registry is a list of names and numbers that telemarketers are prevented from calling, but simply asking a telemarketer to add you to the list will not always do the trick. takes a few months for a new number to take effect, because telemarketing groups are given a certain amount of time in which to delete numbers from their lists.
