In Union County you'll find a spectacular 1600 square foot model train layout is on display for the holiday season, complete with a light and sound show, at Union County´s Lenape Park in Union Township. The HO scale layout is renowned for its dedication to realistic detail and life-like railroading functions. Owned and operated by a non-profit group, The Model Railroad Club, Inc., it is the largest display of its kind in North America.

The HO display features a long-distance freight and passenger railroad, an interurban line with trolleys and commuter trains, and a short line representing the workhorse trains that chug through parts of Union County. A double-decked N Scale layout is also on display along with the popular "Classic Streamliners on Parade."

In addition to the holiday shows, the Mallery Center is open all year on Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 pm. A modest admission fee is charged at the door on non-show days. The partnership between The Model Railroad Club and Union County dates back to 1974. The Club funded the design, construction, and expansion of the Mallery Center on County property. It also funds the operation and maintenance of the building.
