RUMWAL Helps Kids Make-A-Wish!

RUMWAL Adventures, active in the rugged outdoors fishing/guide trade have literally tripled their fan base in a relatively short period of time. Statistics show that businesses take on the average, five years to break even and yet, in just three years, they have long surpassed that. What is the secret?

First and foremost, RUMWAL Adventures is not a business, but simply two regular guys who bring a whole lot of people together to have fun. The secret to their success is due to the goodwill of the companies who are affiliated with them and naturally, to the people who come from far and wide to join them a few times a year, daring to do battle with rod and reel; the majority of which attend primarily to help raise money for the Northern Alberta Make-A-Wish Foundation. The goal of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to grant wishes to children who suffer from life threatening illnesses.

The latest event was held on February 19th on Lake Isle, which is approximately an hour west of Edmonton, Alberta. (RUMWAL leaders Lawrence Gibson and Murray Hanchard express their heartfelt gratitude to the Gainford Hotel, whose staff went above and beyond to make their stay on February 18th, a fantastic one.)

Beginning at 6:30 am, holes were drilled and tents set up; by 10am, fishing was in full swing. 80 people dotted the ice and of these, 15 caught a fish. By 3 pm, prizes were handed out to all entrants and at last count; $900.00 had been raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, making the total amount raised to date, nearly $5,000.00.

The next exciting RUMWAL Adventure will be held on July 15th.
