Have you ever wanted to search for a person by using their phone number, but when you tried using your local phone book you couldn´t find the number? This might be because the number is private, or it may in fact be that the number is a listed landline but is from another state and needs to be searched for on a national level. This can easily be achieved with a reverse phone lookup online.
What do I need to conduct one of these lookups? You will require the telephone number, not the person´s last name, which is the typical search detail you would want for a traditional look up. That said, you need to ensure you have the complete ten digits, which is made up of the area code and the standard 7-digit number. Each numeral is required in order for the service to be able to function properly, as each set of digits are linked to different geographical information, and when combined as a whole, they are associated with a single owner.
Do all reverse telephone traces on the internet provide national phone searches? The vast majority of them will, because most of them obtain their data from the public phone directory. Therefore, this doesn´t only mean that you can obtain data from landline numbers in all the 50 states, it also means that it can be provided for free.
However, the convenience of reverse searches does have limitations. While it may be gratis and a snap to lookup information on a listed land-line, don´t expect this same experience if the wire line is private (unpublished) or is a cell phone.
