´It´s a Wonderful life´ in America At Last
One of my favorite movie´s along with Shane and High Noon and To Kill a Mocking Bird which all give a set of values that evaporated somewhere along the way. So many things are happening to give me hope right now. One of them is to hear the ´Big Mouth with a Mike´ as he described himself today finally quieting down and Royal his talk show buddy able to gloat over Obama openly. I talk of Boortz who once set his Atlanta pack onto me when I commented about his wanting us to torture all and sundry.
Here is part of my article on Nov 4th last year.
"There he is on National Radio (today 11/2/07) directing Americans that torture is ok as anyone not in uniform are not covered by the Geneva Accord? He says 'torture the bastards'. But who are the bastards? Are they the ones in Gitmo scooped up by a 'dead or alive' campaign where anyone could be sold to the US for $5000 as a terrorist and whom most of had to be released to their home countries as innocent in the UK and Australia and Canada for a start. Are the bastards the ones scooped up erroneously and secretly renditioned to torture chambers in Poland and other places with no morals? Are the 'bastards' the ones who just happen to wear turbans and were scooped up just like the Japanese after Pearl Harbor? Imagine the radical school playing this hate tape of Boortz to fire the hatred and your son ending up in the hands of people able to replay the hatred to the captive? How DOES this great nation even allow this man to speak in your name? Do you ever wonder what the Global community make of this acceptance of such evil diatribe?"
Right now Boortz is talking of renewing his Attorney license as he expects to be silenced by the new Obama America. I for one would love it if the ´orchestrators´ of hatred are harnessed and prevented from sound biting continual hate like Lord Haw Haw. Hannity and Limbaugh are the worlds worst and could not operate in the UK. It is not so much what they say as what they prevent the opposition from saying. They boast of ´running America´. THAT is dangerous and how pompous to even brag about it. The many immigrants sucked in by promises and now denied licenses were ensured to be ´under the radar´ instead of being ´readily documented´ at their own expense and easy to regulate. Now they are criminals when they ´drive to eat´ and all because of talk radio rousting up their listeners to call their representative when Clinton advocated the allowing of licenses.
I did not come here opposing Republicans and I stood on a beach in Pensacola along with 100,000 others swooning over the jets swooping and screaming down with very few of them concerned as to what that might be like to the civilian resident in a dust bowl hovel and having no air force or early warning system or bomb shelters for protection. Of course there was no way to know if anyone had a care for the Iraqi or indeed what their politics where? I did however over the seven years I am here get to understand that for a few years after 9/11 it was treason to even talk of it being wrong to invade and occupy. I am so glad that I can distinguish between the die hards that will back Bush even if he personally water boarded Obama on prime TV. I feel sorry for the ones who refuse to even watch something negative about a Republican. My wife included.
Republicans have been very isolationist and anti world and anti UN and all that good stuff but guess what? Now we see that the world got smaller since the economic crisis and we get back to ´all being in this together´? We need an Obama ´world citizen´ to properly administer that and what a breath of fresh air that will be. Boortz keeps talking as if people are attracted to voting for Obama just for his economic positions instead of the fact that he seems a ´well rounded´ stable character who will listen to others and be a ´Job´ in the top spot and be admired around the world for his wisdom. Hannity and Co will try to pin people down to name any great things he has done. He has galvanized the nation and he is not of the same ilk of those who messed up this last eight years for this once revered nation. Say no more seems to cover it.
