Jurinko Ballpark Art on New Calendar
The annual calendars are a favorite of sports collectors, art lovers and baseball fans.
"Bill Goff Inc has specialized in lithographs generated from paintings of old and new ballparks since our company began more than 20 years ago, and prints from Andy´s meticulous and skilled paintings have always been among our most popular and best selling," noted Bill Goff, the company founder. "In many ways, he put his signature on our company and helped it to grow, and we introduced him to a huge audience of baseball fans who loved ballpark art. He´s the appropriate painter to have on the 2009 edition of Hallowed Ground. It´s the first time we have devoted a calendar to one artist."
Hallowed Ground calendars, among the best selling baseball calendars in the country, were introduced in 1992 and remain faithful to the 11"x17" format with breathtaking representations of classic and current parks. This year´s edition, which sports collectors will continue to enjoy, includes Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium, which have concluded their runs with the 2008 season and brought forth a wave of great nostalgia for the parks that fans grew up in. Yankee Stadium, especially, was the subject of television and video specials, and a wealth of related memorabilia.
With Brooklyn´s Ebbets Field on the cover, the 2009 Hallowed Ground calendar also features Jurinko paintings of Crosley Field (Cincinnati), Griffith Stadium (Washington DC), Sportsman´s Park (St. Louis), Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles), Fenway Park (Boston), Comiskey Park (Chicago), Tiger Stadium (Detroit), Polo Grounds (New York), Veterans Stadium (Philadelphia), and Forbes Field (Pittsburgh).
Andy Jurinko´s work is in great demand by fine art collectors, has been showcased in galleries and museums across the country, and been featured in such publications as Sports Illustrated, New York Magazine, Barron's and the New York Times. His book "Heart of the Game", an illustrated celebration of the American League from 1946-1960, is a production of 12 years of loving labor that produced a 600 painting baseball collection. A lifelong baseball fan, Jurinko has lived, and painted in New York since 1976. He resided in the closest apartment to the World Trade Center complex and was there on 9/11 to witness that historic day, becoming himself the subject of news accounts as the days and months unfolded.
These calendars are licensed by Major League Baseball Properties and the Cooperstown Collection. Visit www.goodsportsart.com for the full line of lithograph offerings from the Bill Goff Inc, or visit it through its online store and auctions at eBay.com.
