God´s Generosity And Man´s Adversity

Padmashri Basineni
Man often blames God for his unhappiness by asking questions like, "why God is giving me this pain?..…why God is making me suffer?" But man does not realize that God never hurts ´his child.´ It is man´s self-created world that´s giving him pain.

God created this divine earth a highly serene place to live in with most beautiful places all over it that delight every heart. He created it by putting in everything that his children require to lead a good life. Man had no sense of possession at all. There was nothing he could own in the world that he was born into. God had created ample resources on earth so that man could share everything with his fellow beings and could lead a life in harmony with this natural environment. There was no place for any sort of evil. There was only ´LOVE´.

However, because man´s policy is "I need something better" man wasn´t happy with what God had given him. He refused to adapt himself to his natural environment. As he always wanted his life to be easier than before, man started creating his own world by discovering and inventing various things. Whatever he felt necessary, he invented it. But he could not make so much that would be sufficient to all his fellow beings on earth. This created inequalities among men as not all humans could enjoy all these man-made creations resulting in jealousy, envy, anger, hatred, ego, violence and so forth.

The more he improved his surroundings to make his life easier the more complicated he made it. He messed up with the things that nature owns. This led to a catastrophe called environmental pollution, which right away resulted in adverse reactions. The natural environment got contaminated with dangerous substances as a consequence of human activities. This disastrous condition piled up harmful chemicals and started destroying nature biologically and physiologically. It also depleted ozone layer, the protective layer that God has created for his child. Harmful ultraviolet rays and toxic substances that were released due to contamination scrambled genetic sequence, thus disturbing the gene program incorporated by God for biological function of a living being.

Man´s luxurious lifestyle ended him up in befoulment.

Mankind has had to pay for these alterations through terrible diseases like Cancers, Obesity, Coronaries, Cardiac arrest, Chromosomal aberrations, Diabetics, Depression and so on. Still, man, not knowing where to stop, is tampering with nature; it´s a vicious cycle where man tries to invent something in order to make up for previous adversities. Except resurrection of life, man excelled in all his endeavors. Yet, all his efforts end up in quest for happiness, which he had had beforehand.

One of man´s most precious and most vicious creations is money. Man can go to any lengths and fall down to any level to possess it. Unfortunately, it started ruling him. Money became the final aim of his life. It influenced his relationships and dreams. Love and humanity no longer made sense to him. This led to violence, dishonesty, corruption and moral perversion all over the world. He got enmeshed in this materialistic world.

Now he finds it difficult to cope with all these problems. He is struggling from dawn to dusk to survive in this world. He is striving in pursuit of happiness, which he never finds in his self-created environment. He is leading a pathetic life combating illness and seeking serenity in a place, where there is a lack of amity. His later generations are studying in schools and universities just to learn how to survive in complex and hazardous habitat they were born into. He can´t help it.

Man ruined his mother nature. He never realized the worth of what he had and what he has lost and keeps on blaming God for his unhappiness. God is so generous that he continues to put all the things that man needs on earth. Man is responsible for his self destruction.

Though it seems unlikely that man´s thirst for better life would ever be satiated, let´s hope that man will someday feel contented and readapt himself to his natural environment, wherein his real prosperity lies.
