Casino Tour Bus Causes Tragic Injuries in Nor Cal

According to reports by casino tour bus accident attorneys, the California Highway Patrol there has been a charter bus accident that has injured at least 38 passengers and fatally injured 10. The accident occurred in the vicinity of Williams in Northern California approximately six miles east of Interstate 5 at approximately 6:18 p.m. The bus was heading to the Colusa Casino Resort and was on the Lone Star Road in Colusa County traveling at about 60 mile per hour at the time the driver lost control according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Patrick Landreth.

Sgt. Landreth stated that the bus veered off of the road and this is when the driver lost control, the bus completely rolled over causing its roof to collapse and windows braking out. When the bus came to a rest it was turned right side up again with its wheels in the ditch and facing the opposite direction.


The accident took place near rice fields and orchards that were searched by firefighters with flashlights and infrared sensors on Sunday night near the crash site for possible victims.

According to Landreth there were no other vehicles involved and at least 37 passengers and the driver were transported to area hospitals.

Six of the crash victims were taken to the Enloe Medical Center; four were in serious condition and two in critical condition according to released information. Other area hospitals included the Colusa Regional Medical Center, Mercy Sa Juan Medical Center, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, UC Davis Medical Center and Woodland Memorial Hospital. The victims of the crash were not only transported by medical emergency vehicles, but also by medevac helicopters.

The bus had Greyhound markings on it and a Greyhound official has stated that the bus was no longer operated by Greyhound and was sold over two years ago. According to California Highway Patrol spokesman Robert Kays the bus carried a Texas license plate that was not valid as well as the registration serial numbers that came up invalid.

The incident is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol after the Sunday night bus crash.
