Hydrogen Peroxide For Toe Nails Fungus Treatment
The discolouration is due to the accumulation of the dead cells. Further to worsen the situation, the nail fungus starts multiplying in these areas, they start producing the fungal spores beneath the nail beds. These spores are difficult to destroy and might take many months together to completely get rid of the infection. There are many chances that recurrence of the infection might take place when the spores are not completely destroyed.
There are many ways to treat the infections. Some may include the home remedy measures that have been followed since ages to get rid of the fungus. The other may include the doctor prescribed method which uses the ointments, crèmes, polishes and oral antibiotics. These crèmes and ointments though seem to work initially, but for some kind of nail infections they act ineffective. The results may or may not occur due to varied reasons like the inactivity of the active ingredient against the pathogenic fungi or the resistance of the fungi towards the crèmes and ointments. It might take months together for a complete remedy.
The most famous way to treat the nail fungus is through the home remedies. Though sounds very fool proof method, home remedies have shown greater chances of recovery as compared with the other ways. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the most active ingredients for treating the nail fungus. Hydrogen peroxide is not new to the human body, the human cells it self produce hydrogen peroxide to combat infections. The biochemical reactions though involve s many steps, finally it is only the hydrogen peroxide produced by the white blood cells of the blood fights the infection by breaking the cell wall structure of the invaded pathogen. So effective is the hydrogen peroxide treatment for nail fungus.
The treatment of nail fungus with hydrogen peroxide is also known as the oxidative therapy. In spite of the bodily synthesis of hydrogen peroxide it is also abundantly found in many fruit juices like cranberry, beet, carrot, etc. The ideal concentration of this chemical is 3%. When the optimal concentration exceeds this limit it might lead to skin irritation.
The infected nails can be dipped in 3% concentration of hydrogen peroxide with water several times a day. By dipping it causes the oxidative break down of the cell by interfering with the respiration process. Thus by dipping them several times a day for many weeks can clear the infection permanently. It is also active against the fungal spores and is cost effective as well!
